richard_oleson
I don't know of any difference between T and T2 adapters. The T thread is a 42mm diameter, .75mm pitch thread.... any "T" mount lens or accessory will fit it, from astronomical telescopes to cheapie lenses to slide copiers..... stephen hazelton
I've not heard of a T2 adaptor, so can't comment on that. It's a moot point what can be mounted on the adaptor. You buy the adaptor to fit the lens, not the other way around. Usually, cheap oddball lenses will use a T-mount. This means long telephoto lenses, mirror lenses, etc. (also some microscope or telescope adaptors) The long telephotos are used wide open most often, the mirror lenses don't have adjustable aperture, and either one works well with the adaptor. You just leave the adaptor on the lens, you don't normally take it off the lens each time you use it. If you are shopping for lenses, just buy whatever lens you want, and then get the adaptor it needs. If for some reason you already have the adaptor, just throw it the junk bin unless you happen to find a lens you like that needs one.
george_shihanian
Obede, Just to make clear- any lens you get a T-mount for has just screw treads on the rear of the lens. The T-mount has matching threads on the front, and the specific camera lens mount on the rear for what camera mount you're using it on- Olympus, Canon, Minolta, etc. I've not heard of a T-2 mount. Could it be you're hearing of a mount by the lens maker Tamron, that has used lens mounts called "Adaptall" and "Adaptall 2"? This system is not the same as a T-mount. richard_oleson
the "T2" designation often occurs on T-mount adapters. in the ones I've seen, the T2 is identical to the T mount, and I don't know what, if any, difference there was, or what was the reason for the different name. The T4 mount was completely different, and I've never heard of a T3...... :)=
