It would be really helpful if you could answer some of these questions, although i do understand that some people may not want to give information away over the internet. -----Questions----- Age: Male/Female Why do you develop your own photos? What do you use for timing development and fixing and so on? Which film do you usually use? Is this 35mm, roll or sheet film? What developer do you usually use? What fixer do you usually use? dean_williams
age: 47 male Why? Mainly-I enjoy it. There are other reasons though; doing it myself is the only way I can get the results I want. Also, it's cheap-like me. Timer: battery powered kitchen timer for neg and print development. Time-o-lite for printing. Film: Mainly Tri-X in 120 and 35, but also Efke 25 & 100, Classic pan 200, Plus-X, and I bought 30 rolls of that cheap Maco 100 from JandC, and it works fine too. APX 100 in 4x5. Other films now and then. Developer: D76 for the lion's share. Others I like: R09, A49, and Gainers Vit-C. For prints Dektol, almost always. Fix: Kodak regular fixer for prints. Paterson Acufix for film. Good stuff, both of 'em. You're welcome. Anytime. Dean Williams

jay_de_fehr
As an adendum to my reply, I would add that with the discovery of Pyrocat HD, I anticipate using that developer for ALL of my films, with the possible exception of Tech Pan, and that I will be using the J&C 200 for the vast majority of my rollfilm, and I will be trying the J&C 200 and 400 in 8x10, and if published reports prove accurate for me, switching there as well. Thanks.
