Organized Photo Trips to Cuba

Has anyone taken an organized photo expedition to Cuba? If so, what

was the total cost including expedition, food, and lodging? I hear

that Canada and Mexico are the 2 main points of entry. I'm in the

northeast and was ideally hoping to get there through the Dominican

Republic however, Montreal would work as well.

Hi Derek,

I am not sure of the cost. Do you live in the US? If so it is my understanding that Mr. Bush says no entry to Cuba for US Citizens after 31 Dec. 03. Maybe its Castro. Castro Bush.....whatever.

Never believed in isolating people for any reason.

If I am wrong on this, someone please correct me.

I don't know of any organized photo trips to Cuba, but I must advise you that if you are an American citizen and get to Cuba one way or another, DO NOT let any Cuban authority stamp your passport or you will be arrested when you come home to the U.S.A.

My wife and I spent two weeks in Cuba last winter and I can assure you there is no end of subject matter for your camera whether you are interested in colonial architecture, people, nature, travel photography or whatever. We rented a car and a driver who was also our guide, interpreter, bodyguard and locator of beautiful and cheap bed-and-breakfast accommodations. The cost for the 2001 Fiat with unlimited mileage, insurance and driver was less than $60 US/day. We travelled most of the country in those two weeks and had a wonderfull photographic holiday. If you want, I can email you Michael's (the driver in Holgein) address. Got any other questions?

Eric;

I am organizing a trip to Cuba for photographer friends. we depart from Miami on

October 24 and return to MIA on November 3. The cost of the trip is $3,250

including air, first class hotel and most meals. This is a legal trip, which means you

can bring back cigars, rum or art work.

What makes a trip good for photography are competant guides, people who have

been there before and enough time at each location to work in an unrushed way.

email me at stevenblumenkrana@mac.com if you want more information
