radu_liviu
I am wondering which kind of film would be better for fireworks. Should I use a saturated type like Agfa Vista, Konika, Fuji Velvia or a low-contrast ones like Fuji NPS 160, Kodak Portra or Fuji Reala. Thank you. jbq
High-contrast saturated. Shoot ISO 100 film at f/8, and ISO 50 at f/5.6. Tripod and cable-release are must-haves.
greg_erker
I like using EPY (Kodak 64 speed tungsten balanced film).Gives more realistic colours IMO. The square root of the filmspeed has worked for me (so in this case I use f8 +/- half astop). The really dim bursts (that look like orange glitter) won'tshow up well at f8 so if there was a way to plan ahead you wouldopen up the lens a stop or even more.
You can see a (not great scan) of my best 3d fireworks shothere.(it was taken using EPY).
Greg
r.t. dowling
I'm going to be using Kodak Gold 100 tonight for the fireworks. I had planned on trying Agfa Ultra 100 but didn't have time to get to the photo store yesterday, and they're closed today. So Gold 100 it is. I'm sure it will be fine.
