Hi All

Disclaimer: I'm a Leica user, and not a Leica forum regular or a

collector.

I just wanted to post feedback for Youxin Ye, who just returned to me

my Leica M3 DS. He did a great CLA, patched a small piece of missing

vulcanite, aligned the RF, adjusted a misaligned winding gear, and

cleaned the inside elements of the lens. Total cost $120. Turnaround

time: 2 days (I'm local). The camera is quite smooth and functioning

well. He's also a really nice guy who pays close attention to detail.

Youxin's contact information can be found on <A

Nemeth's Leica FAQ site.

His e-mail is wye7@yahoo.com

I can corroborate that Mr. Ye is a terrific source of Leica knowledge and an all-around gentleman, but I'm not sure he would appreciate having his entire information publicly displayed like that for thousands of people to read, if not more. He's a private repairman, you know, not someone operating out of a business or store.

Youxin reads this list from time to time himself so if he sees this perhaps he can chime in.

Andrew,

I completely agree. If he works on cameras for people by word of mouth, I'm sure he would be upset being sent a deluge of work w/o being contacted first. If he is running a business, advertises (I haven't seen any in Shutterbug, not that I've looked too carefully, but have browsed) and being listed (by permission) on Andrews site, and by word of web, then it's a different story.

I agree as well with the relative privacy issue, which is why my original post listed only that information that was available on the web. I have also intentionally not mentioned Youxin's place of work, work address or work phone number for the same reason. Please contact him via e-mail only to start.
With respect to having on onslaught of work, I got the impression that he welcomes this kind of work- it's clearly a labor of love for him.
