Speaking of Tokina, has anyone used the Tokina SMZ 370? This is a

35-70mm f3.5-f4.8 "One Touch Macro Zoom" lens that can still be

found as new. I found several on $bay fairly cheap. Is this a

consumer grade POS? <a

didn't see it on the lens test site.

I've had good luck with only one off brand lens. The Quantaray

135mm f2 in M42<a href="http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?

me $20.00! I wish I could get a deal like that for my OM2. :-)

I have an older Tokina 80-200mm zoom lens and used it on my Minolta X-700. When the camera was pointed downward, the focus ring would start creeping. After getting my Nikon N6006, I noticed a huge improvement in sharpness in many of my pictures. Taking a look at the Tokina the other day (Now long disused) I see that the internal coating on the forwardmost lens element is bad. This diffused the light very nicely...Considering what I paid for this unit, it never really delivered.
