henricus
Speaking of Tokina, has anyone used the Tokina SMZ 370? This is a 35-70mm f3.5-f4.8 "One Touch Macro Zoom" lens that can still be found as new. I found several on $bay fairly cheap. Is this a consumer grade POS? I didn't see it on the lens test site.
I've had good luck with only one off brand lens. The Quantaray 135mm f2 in M42 (Click here for photo example.), which cost me $20.00! I wish I could get a deal like that for my OM2. :-)
john falkenstine
I have an older Tokina 80-200mm zoom lens and used it on my Minolta X-700. When the camera was pointed downward, the focus ring would start creeping. After getting my Nikon N6006, I noticed a huge improvement in sharpness in many of my pictures. Taking a look at the Tokina the other day (Now long disused) I see that the internal coating on the forwardmost lens element is bad. This diffused the light very nicely...Considering what I paid for this unit, it never really delivered.
