l_a_k_h_i_n_d_e_r
By Paul Harcourt Davies. Published 1998. ISBN 0-7153-0800-9. A very good book to learn macro photography. It touches upon all the important issues and various macro situations. Equipment/Technique is clearly discussed without stressing on a particular brand name. Photographs are wonderful. Hardcover and nice jacket and the overall presentation (including the nice paper) only add to the worth of this book.

catherine_horey
I did judge this book by its cover, and I'm glad I did. Davies discusses all the different ways of taking macro and close up photographs, along with the pros and cons of each method. Film brands, types and speeds are all discussed and illustrated. This book will show you how colors will look on different films so that you can better choose a film based on your preferences. The book also discusses lighting for macro situations in great detail. I found the lighting in my own macro photography to improve greatly after reading this book. Overall I found this book to be an excellent reference for anybody who does, or wants to do macro photography.
