phil_aynsley
Further to my reference in an earlier thread about my mate's hard used F-1Ns - I had a chat with him today and we estimated that since their purchase back in Oct. 1981 (just about the first sold in Oz) they have each done over 800,000 frames (yes that's 800,000). Admittedly they look pretty used and the curtains have been replaced at least once but they are still going. Hard to see that happening with too many current models! awahlster
WOW that's 2.6 rolls of 36exp everyday for 23 years someones figer must be real tired!! if you take just one day off a week it jumps to 3 full rolls and if you only snap 5 days a week that's 3.7 rolls every single day. Again WOW now if you are talking that he has two of these cameras with the same work load. and you take out at least the time to change the shutters etc and only five days a week and a few other things that might come up your talking and this is a wild guess around 10+ rolls of 36 exp every single day for 23 years. Almost unbelieveable!!!!
phil_aynsley
Both of us were staff photographers for a magazine publishing company (he for 20 years, me for 10) so there was no letup in the work! 20 rolls per week (quite a conservative figure) per body x 50 weeks x 23 years = 828,000 frames... and then there is all the 120 shot on RBs! david_goldfarb
For people who shoot fashion, 40 rolls in a day is not that unusual.
charles barcellona www.bl
It would be unusual to shoot a "fashion" shoot 5 days a week tho at that volume.
joe_garrick
Several hundred exposures per day would be commonplace at a high volume portrait shop.
