lars_ekberg1
Does any one know where to get a service or repair manual for a Minox 35 EL? I found a no-working one at a flea market and it was a bargain. Now it's all dismounted and someone's been here before me! That bastard cut and removed all the wiring to the shutter. No wonder it didn't work.... So if no manual, I'm in need of some information about the wiring inside the lens. There are seven leads, too many to do it by chance. ricardo_carrascon
Lars, I am just now trying to repair the shutter of my minox 35GL and I have read your question. I am enclosing three photographs showing the wiring: I suppose it is the same in GL than in EL. Ricardo Carrascon. Madrid Spain

lars_ekberg1
Ricardo, many thanks for your help! I have also received the original Minox wiring layout from Don (he's a great guy!) at D.A.G. Camera Repair, which helped me a lot (unfortunately it's only on paper, so I can't show you). Visit his web-site www.dagcamera.com Now, the only thing stopping me from using the repaired beauty is a rod coupling the release button with the shutter (this I can probably make myself, but there are some other small parts too). But I'm patient, I've found another 35 EL, perfectly working, (a bargain of course). One of the pleasures with old cameras is not to find the perfect mint condition specimen, only to put it on the shelf. It is to find a "wreck" and make it working and use it. ricardo_carrascon
Lars, I agree with your approach. I cannot afford buying mint cameras, but if I could I do not think it to be so interesting as to buy a poor old one and to make it work.
