radim sulc www.sulc.com
I have a trouble with horizontal shots with my shift 75 mm / f 4,5 on Pentax 67II body including Pentaprism metering finder. If I do a horizontal shots with shifted lens (just a bit or a lot), underexposure occures regularly (about 1,5 to 2,5 stops). If I do a vertical pictures I have no problems and metering is really fine. Do I apply this compensation or is it a mistake somewhere ? Does somebody have any advice ?? Thank you. gert_jan_bollen
Hi Radim, your findings are correct. As the manual says always take the light reading unshifted. you can download the manual at the US pentax site. Kind regards Gert Jan
lex_jenkins
Meter before shifting. Keep that reading after adjusting the shift. You can also expect significant light falloff at the "upper" edge when using extreme shifts. This applies to any shift lens. Don't try to compensate for it by adjusting the metering - you just have to live with it and compensate during post processing digitally or in the wet darkroom.
