hans andersson
Hi.I'm using Fuji 200 to 1600 mainly negative. I develope in Tental C-41 in a Jobo CPE2 with lift. I have read of presoking with weat. Will the weat have any bad impact on the film and hereby the result? Or will it only guarentee that I will get a more safe and stabile result from the development. I ask due to I will increase the saftie of my development.Best regards Hans A
jimvanson
Don't know about Fuji...I'd probably email them and ask.
Ilford is another story. They Do Not recomend you presoak as the presoak strips off some of the chemistry used in the developement process. The chemistry, which includes an anti-foaming agent doesn't get a chance to work as it gets poured down the sink when you dump the presoak. michael erlich
Best to follow manufacturers instructions. I do not presoak C-41, but I do preheat the drum for 5 minutes in the water bath. Presoaking will delay action of developer and results, especially color balance, will suffer.
