david_lee2 Posted June 20, 2003 Share Posted June 20, 2003 Hello - I was shooting in Yosemite the other day and all of a sudden my 28- 135 would not go past 70. OR, sometimes it would only go from 35- 135. I am perplexed. I did not drop it, and it did not undergo any shocks prior to that. Anyone have any ideas? george_gilbert Posted June 20, 2003 Share Posted June 20, 2003 I found an "authorized Canon repair shop" that gave a $125 repair fee for the lens. david_lee2 Posted July 2, 2003 Author Share Posted July 2, 2003 Thanks for all your responses. The problem turned out to be a loose screw that would prevent the lens from rotating all the way. The technician said it was not an uncommon problem. Took it to a local authorized Canon repair shop, they had it repaired in 1 day. Bill was $120.
