1.
I recently purchased an IMACON 4040 w software, cables, etc. When I went to connect to my older IBM laptop, there were a series of error messages. So I loaded up the software on an older MAC G4 laptop...then erased it when it wasn't receiving an image from the back and downloaded it again from Hasselblad's archives. The program comes up. I can add in, under camera, the Hasselblad ELX. Still no image.
Either the back is bad or I'm doing something very wrong. In the previous posts, the sequence was hinted at, but no info was given.
So, here's the initial start-up sequence I've been following:
1. Plug in back to ELX, attach push button trigger to aux slot, attach connecting cable (25' +/-) from back to controller
2. attach controller (tried setting it to every 0-9 setting on back, no luck) to 2d party SCSI-Firewire interface, then interface to MAC w firewire (the terminator plug glows so there's power there)(have also switched ports on controller to see if that would make a difference...no.)
3. turn on controller w battery, leave cycle...The 4040 Back's green ready light goes from red to green.
4. turn on MAC.
5. Access FLEX program
6. push trigger button on back (plugged into aux socket on back), but no sound or shutter release from ELX.
7. Then pushed ELX trigger on front of camera, camera shutter triggered, motor wound for next exposure.
8. No trace of image on MAC.
So far, have tried every combination of numbers on window on back of controller, activation/plug in/turn on sequences, on/off buttons, but nothing is any different.
Am I missing something or is the back just dead? It doesn't "talk" to the ELX. Again, green power light comes up, and the cooling fan on the back does activate as needed. Any assistance would be appreciated. Called Hasselblad, but they said it was too old and no one there remembered anything much about the back! But after research, they did find the software for it in the archives, so they really did try.
Thanks again.
Wayne Toberman
