1. I took a photo without flash at night, with fast moving object. Everything exposed normal, but those two people have strange artefacts like shadows of themselves and not smooth moving and not smooth moving like I see on other fast moving object photos (smooth, smudged movement). I have Nikon F3, ISO was 400, aperture mode, 35mm at f/2, shutter speed I don't remember (sorry). Ice park by Svjetlopisac, on Flickr What happened? Is my shutter OK? :/
 2.
I just bought Nikkor 105mm f/2.5 AI-s version and I don't know much about this lens behavior so I have just one question:

Is there unmarked f-stop between f/4 and f/2.5?

I have a click there near 2.5 that looks like full stop 2.8, but 2.8 is not marked on lens with white paint (because of lack of space?), so is this normal? If you are owner of one, please help me. :)

Also, on both lenses I have so far 35mm f/2 AI-s and this one, in Nikon F3 HP viewfinder I see small chromatic aberration on the edges of sharp white objects, more on 105mm then in 35mm but still present in both. Is that normal for viewfinder in F3HP and those lenses? I haven't developed film yet to see it directly, I'm quite new in all of this. Sorry for being noob. ;D

Thank you all! :)

 3.
Both my tests were done without lens.

So, Les Sarile said that there is difference between DOF button and shutter position of aperture level.

Matthew Currie said "On a Nikon F, using Vlad's test, the DOF button does go all the way to its limit when the shutter is open. " and I didn't understand that well. F or F3? DOF button and shutter position are same in mm on yours?

Anybody else took the last test with aperture level positions (without lens please)?

Sorry for me being peculiar about this, but I would like to know. And sorry if my English is not that good. :)

 4.
Just one more question, if I may ask. :D

When you press DOF button all the way in, aperture level goes all the way down. But, when you use camera to do so, while shooting (say 4 secs. time so you can check it), does aperture level go all the way down exactly same in millimeter as pushing DOF button all the way, or does it stay say two millimeters up from lowest position? Check it.

Because, mine stays around 2mm above final position.

 5.
Thanks guys. :)

Just wonder, how often do you give to maintenance service (clean, oil, etc., when not broken) your F3?

 6.
Hello Nikon F3 users,

Sorry for interruption, but I would like to know how does it feel when you press DOF preview button on it? Is it smooth motion or rough/hard one?

I'm asking because I recently bought used F3 which looks like brand new, and on other Nikon FM3a same button is quite smooth, but on this F3 I can press it all the way without a problem but it feels hard and like I'm pressing it in steps.

So, is it something wrong with it, without lube or what? Or is it normal because camera is like unused so it will work out more smoother trough time later?

Thanks :)

 7.
I tried also re-seating focusing screen and result is the same.

 8.
Hello to all, I'm new here, and new owner of FM3a (never had Nikon film SLR).

The problem (I'm not sure if it is one or it's something normal) is a viewfinder. It looks like it's up, so to say. I need to look at ceiling to see F number in it, and also top part is not sharp as bottom and sides. I also took a picture with webcam and without lens so you can see that top is faded. No matter how I look top more or less faded.

So my question is, is that normal or is there something wrong with my FM3a? (I bought it from Japanese eBay seller)

Thank you for your help.

P.s.: There is also something like thin hair at the exit of viewfinder, across it from one site to other, just a few mm inside. I believe it's a glass crack. It can be seen only when you put your camera bit away, say 10 cm or more from your eyes. It's not on the part of viewfinder that can be unscrew. It's bit hard to caught it on photo so I don't have one. But I'm also worried about that too.
