We're in Mallorca right now. Yesterday we went for a long walk in the mountains, la Sierra de Tramuntana. The walk took us between four very small pueblos. I found it extra exciting because I've just finished a series where some of these places were mentioned. Anyway, views were amazing, the weather just perfect and streets were almost too narrow for the Fiat 500 which we'd rented. Waiting for the flight to take us back home to Valencia. A weekend trip like this, with just my husband and I is a rare treat. I hope we'll be able to make one soon again.

What you see in the image is Benidorm. It used to be a holiday resort for madrileños (people from Madrid) but it is nowadays very popular destination for the British. I've only been there once and it doesn't really have the same ambiance as Altea and Albir. Albir is a more low key town formed originally by fishermen and their families. Of the places you've mentioned I have only been to Madrid and Barcelona. My favorite (after Valencia of course) is Madrid. It's a beautiful town with breathtaking architecture. I loved el Prado. Planning on going there again before Christmas.

I managed to visit the top of the natural park we have outside out little house in Albir, Spain. It was quite a walk and I had not prepared as it didn't occur to me that I should have. Age sort of creeps up on you. I shot this with the macro. I must admit it didn't turn out great.

The app works somewhat well for me. Sometimes when I use it in the studio, I trigger the camera but the camera doesn't trigger the strobes. Why it does this sometimes is still unexplained. I've restarted the app and the connection and then usually it works again. I've not found a setting that will turn the hot shoe on or off. I have a Mark IV and I think I have a remote somewhere...

The apple of my eye, la niña de mis ojos. Well, at least one of them. We were doing a family photo shoot as we do sometimes. And the kids all get to goof around as much as they like. This is my youngest, Harald. Harald is six years old and understands Swedish, Spanish, English and Valencian. But he speaks mostly English and will only speak Spanish in school. I know that photoshop comes with all these new AI enhancements. But I still don't trust them for portraits. Canon Mark IV

I haven't been here for ages. I've just not had the time. It has been more GoPro than camera I'm afraid. But managed to grab my camera a couple of times this week. Hoping to get back to the best hobby in the world. This is a funny capture from when we were at the lake Albufera where you can watch the sunset outside of Valencia. Having lived on the west coast of Sweden for most of my life I did miss the sunset. This was a neat way of experiencing it on the east-coast of Spain. It was a neat boat ride as well. If I've had a longer lens I could have captured a good deal of birds wading at the shorelines. Another time perhaps. The old max 900 doesn't apply any more?

Las fallas en Valencia. It's amazing. I cannot make it justice with neither words nor photos. It has been celebrated in the region since the 18th century at least. It started as a homage to the saint of the carpenter, Joseph of Nazareth. The carpenters would collect all the wood that was left over and burn it on the 19th of March. It is now a two-week non-stop fiesta of biblical proportions (if you don't mind the reference). People team up a year in advance and construct enormous statues in papier maché. There are ceremonies every day with different meanings. Kids go around the town throwing small bangers overlooked by their parents. There are entire streets dedicated to this practice. There are "mascletas" around the clock. Mascletas is mostly very, very noisy and intense fireworks. And it all ends on the 19th of March when all the figures are ceremoniously cremated in "la crema". Since fallas has been cancelled two years in a row due to the pandemic, this was our first experience. I am in love. Unfortunately my photos does not make this party justice. I tip my hat to my Spanish neighbors who do know how to throw a fiesta.

I spent this week in Czech Republic, Brno to be more exact. I didn't take more than three images all together. Two of them are here.

There was an outing planned last week but then then we had three people in my family catching covid, so we had to quarantine for seven days. Everyone is fine, one had a slight fever for 12 hours, one was asymptomatic and my husband had cold-like symptoms for a day. Fingers crossed for this Sunday.
