1.
Exactly Shun!
My 32GB is a 1000X card and saves no faster than my 400X cards. Nice to get 1,500 shots on one card, I must say.

 2.
I have a 32GB in the camera now, and (2) 16GB cards in my Black Rapid Strap compartment. They work perfectly and they are all Lexar Professional.
Speed is the log jam with the D700. It can only buffer 17 RAW images, so when doing bursts you will run out of space faster than the camera can keep up. With JPEGs it just goes and goes......

 3.
I'd much rather a 400mm f4 or f5.6 like Canon makes.
Once you get past the 300mm threshold, you're buying a freaking used car for the price.
I have a 300mm 2.8 glued to a 1.4 TCII and it's still too short with a full frame.
I love my Nikon lenses, but there are gaps I wish did not exist.

 4.
Why don't my comments appear in the posts anymore???

 5.
Just not what I was hoping for as an upgrade to my D700 with MB-D10 grip. Bummer.

 8.
Thanks, Chris & Edwin. That feeding episode went on for quite some time. I would watch the chicks until they started flapping their wings and start shooting bursts cued by their actions. I guess it worked.

 10.
Good Morning Friends - Here is an Osprey coming in with breakfast. Full feather flair to catch air as it was dead calm.
