  1. Driving through Idaho and Montana this past weekend for a memorial service. We stopped at Yellowstone Bear World, kind of a tourist trap but the cubs were totally worth it. Z6 1/500 at f 5.6, ISO200, Tamron 70 - 210 at 210mm On the drive back we stopped at Salmon Lake for this shot. Nikkor 24-70 at 24mm. 1/320, f 6.3 at ISO100
  2. It's always amazing how something that looks so fascinating can produce such devastation. Growing up in Oklahoma, and living for a few years in the Moore area (aka tornado central) I have seen my share of super cells, and stood out in the driveway watching the whole base rotate right over my house.
  3. Went for a walk along the river near the house after getting my new camera. Still much to learn with all the features.... Z6, Nikkor 24-70 at 57mm. 1/320, f 6.3 ISO 100
  4. I was able to get out a couple of weeks ago and find some of the juvenile Bald Eagles that are wintering at Willard Bay State Park in Utah. D3400 1/1000 f/8 ISO 200, Nikkor 80-300 at 300 This one a bit more mature but much more skittish. 1/1000, f/8 at ISO 200. Nikkor 80-300 at 300.
  5. I missed most of the Jupiter / Saturn shots last week, but here is my shot from a more wide angle view using a new lens. Looking out over Antelope Island State Park on the Great Salt Lake. D3400 Nikkor 10 - 20 at 10MM 8 seconds, ISO 100 at f/8 Also another shot with the new lens on the Weber River. 10 - 20 mm at 10 mm, ISO 280, 1/250 at f/5.6

    Evening Peace

Awesome shot, great composition and such vivid colors.
  7. A couple of shots from back in the summer... Causey Reservoir in Utah. D3400, Nikkor 18-55 at 55mm, f10, 1/100 ISO 200 D3400 Nikkor 18-55 at 18mm, f11, 1/125 at ISO 180
  8. It's been a while but here are a couple of shots from the back patio of the full moon the other night and the mountains with a fresh dusting of snow (we really need more). D3400, Nikkor 70-300 f 6.3 at 145mm, 1/100, ISO 200 70-300 at f 4.5, 70mm, 1/400s at ISO 800
  9. Ok, now I'm jealous. All I have flying over are F-35s. Hoping to get out to the refuge at Farmington this weekend
  10. My contribution is from September when my wife and I went to Montana to visit my mom. I don't think I will ever get tired of Glacier National Park and the views that it offers. D 3400 1/50th, f36, ISO 800 18 - 55 Nikkor at 50 mm. Looking out over Lake McDonald. Still at Lake McDonald hours later waiting on the moon to come out, only to realize I didn't take into account how high the mountain was. Nikkor 70 - 300 at 70 mm. 10 seconds at f 6.3, ISO 1600 Finally at Bowman Lake. Such clear water! 18 - 55 at 18 mm, 1/125, f 11, ISO 100
  11. It's been a while since I've had a chance to shoot and post, new house and work sometimes tend to get in the way. Driving home from work the other night the clouds were breaking from our latest snow storm and revealed a beautiful scene with the mountains reflecting a beautiful sunset. D3400, 1/500 at f5, ISO 400. 80 - 300 at 135mm. While out on the back patio getting this there was an F-35A flying over the house and got this. 1/500 at f5, ISO 1000. Focal length at 170mm
  12. Nice shot of the rocket engine test. I would love to have gone but got tied up in meetings all day :(
  13. I agree with Matt, non-photographic life, and snowy weather has kept me somewhat busy. But speaking of snowy weather, did go snowshoeing a couple of weeks ago. It's so amazing how blue and clear the sky is when you get above the pollution. D3400, 1/400 at f11.0, ISO 200; Nikkor 18-55 mm at 24mm. While on the trail there was a lady with her sled and dogs that went flying by. Didn't really expect to see that in Utah. 1/500 at f11 and ISO 100. Nikkor 18-55 at 45mm
  14. They had the visitor center open, but no programs were going on because of the shutdown. The main road is open up to the parking lot of Sunrise and Sunset Point. Typically they do keep most of the roads plowed. Other than not getting to go on the full moon hike, it was a good trip.
  15. A couple of shots from Bryce Canyon National Park this past weekend. Was disappointed that as a result of the govt shutdown, all ranger led activities were cancelled. We were or should I say, I was really looking forward to their Full Moon Hike. But we still got to see some breathtaking scenery and got a few decent shots in the process. All taken with a D3400 Sunrise overlook. 1/250, F10, ISO 250. 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 at 28mm 1/250, F10, ISO 280, 18-55 at 34mm 1/250 at F10, ISO 400, 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 at 110 mm
