1.
Hello everyone so I own a Contax G2 camera. I just tried to use it the other day and it wouldn't turn on and I assumed it was the battery so I replaced that and it still won't turn on. I am not sure what the deal is. I haven't damaged the camera in anyway. Any ideas what it could be?

 2.
Hello everyone I have just recently bought a Contax G2. Everything seems to be working fine (haven't put a roll through it yet) but shutter fires, meter works etc. The only thing wrong with it is the two LCDs aren't working (iso, and frame count) my question is do I need those to be working in order to use the camera?

 3.
Hey Ellis
Ya I got his book. I took his workshop at The Palm Springs Photo festival but didn't get a chance to ask about the product stuff. I know how he lights his portraits but I can't get a handle on his product stuff. I will check out your interview thank you!

 4.
I love how Dan Winter's lights his subjects but his product stuff is really what I am most fascinated by. Probably because I am not well versed in product or object lighting. Does anybody here have any ideas on how any of these images were lit? I am assuming softlight sources were used as well as on access. I just can't understand how he got rid of all the shadows. Thanks everyone!

https://kathleenclarkexposed.files.wordpress.com/2013/08/winters_ex_last_launch_04.jpg https://www.igsta.com/media/977823945586993817_18371369 https://www.pinterest.com/pin/33073378490048851/

 5.
Hey Photo.net
I didn't know where to put this because there isn't a long exposure forum. I have attempted this effect and failed miserably and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on it. I have tried long exposure first having the subject move and then also trying it with camera movement. I feel like Jeff Newsom has figured out a way to get the rainbow effect in camera somehow. I am stumped at this point.

 6.
I am looking for something similar to the type 55 image but looking to shoot sheet film. I have shot some Tmax 400 which is great but I am looking for something maybe a little more unpredictable if that is the word. I just love the fact that type55 it holds on the tones extremely well and it also does something weird with the picture. Like a little bit of an edge burn or light leak. Maybe I should shoot some expired film? I am not sure if there is such a film out there but just thought I would ask.

 7.
Because it is haha I did a major fail and didn't realize it until after. Grr! its going back

 8.
I recently bought a polaroid quad camera. I believe a Cambo 40 or something close to that. I am having trouble figuring out how to load the damn thing. I have other polaroid cameras (210,instax, sx-70) so I am pretty familiar with loading the film but this one stumps me. Unless it just doesn't take fuji 100c. I will attach a picture so you can see what I am talking about. It has three doors with the rollers.

<a title="photo (1) copy by Tom Fowler, on Flickr" href=" src="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3880/14534239758_d41c024c7c_s.jpg" alt="photo (1) copy" width="75" height="75" />

 9.
Hello everyone
I know the photography community likes to get wrapped up in gear. I do think it is important but I think something that is equally important is the performance of a subject for lack of a better word. I feel that all the great portrait photographers that I have studied get down to the persons core or what seems to be by the viewer the core. This has been reinforced by looking at my old family pictures and my favorite pictures are sometimes is out of focus, badly composed and taken with a not so great camera but it has emotion impact for me. I know that most photographers will say I make my subject relax which sounds like a simple answer but it is easier said than done. I want to know how you and how you think other photographers (Dan Winters, Richard Avedon especially) approach their subjects in such a way that they can consistently get the images that they get. I feel that that raw emotion is missing in a lot of images I see today as well as my own. I also think someone can have a really crappy camera and take amazing pictures if the emotion comes across. Thank you for your time and if you know any books on this subject I would appreciate the recommendation as well.

 10.
I am looking at the different Phase One bodies the 645DF and the 645DF+. What is the difference between the two bodies. I can get a pretty cheap 645df body but not a 645DF+. Someone at Samy's said the 645DF+ has more compatibility with the backs than the DF body. I am just wondering how much of a difference the shooting experience is between the two. Is it a huge difference or just a few improvements that won't justify the DF+ higher price tag. Thanks!

 11.
Let's just say for the sake of argument that I am using 400 speed film. What is the difference between overexposing by 2 stops and telling the camera that I have 800 film speed and overexposing 2 stops. I know Jose Villa as well as Elizabeth Messina like to tell the camera it is a speed higher than what it is rated at to get their signature colors but what is the difference between that and just over exposing it by the same amount? Thanks!
