1.
Loaded new roll of film, business as usual. Went ahead to set shutter/aperture and found that wheels were difficult to turn.

Didn't want to force anything, brought camera to a reputable shop, only to be told that I have dented in (or tilted if you will) front focus plate. The whole cam has to be taken apart to re-align the wheels, focus realigned (luckily shutter seems ok). BIG JOB.

Rolleis are no junk: it's good german tank-built engineering. I never bumped the camera (the body is pristine, yes, really), but it's always traveling and always packed tight. So since there are no marks on the body, I'm guessing the damage resulted from pressure while in transport.

I googled this issue, and it doesn't seem common. Any feedback on this? Anyone else heard/knows about his problem?
Are they seriously FAR more frangible than I imagined? Hard to believe, but my boy is in a shop getting recovery as we speak. Bummer.
