1.
I have popped many lens elements out of Pentax, Nikon and Oly. Pentax K's seem to be the easiest. The front element usually comes out with just a spanner or even a cut in half raquetball as a friction wrench. the front ID plates usually just unscrew and there are 3 screws holding the element in place. Always mark ANY piece that could possible be put in at a different angle. Sometimes there are adjustments that can be made with the mounting rings, do not disturb their original positions. The rears are even easier, just unscrew the entire rear lens carrier. If there is any helical focus gears, mark the position that you use to separate them, ie, the last point that they mesh. this will greatly assist you when you re-thread them as the focus lines will not line up if you get them one thread out. If you are going to soak any lens element, try and soak them inside their carrier rings. Much easier and you wont risk the spanner slipping and scratching the lens while taking off a trivial retainer ring.
