  1. I'm ready to add the Z5 but waiting on more info on F mount lenses that burn out the fuse in the FTZ.
  2. I used the heck out of my 18-200 on the D200, D300, and D7100. Don't ask what I paid for it after being on the waiting list for it. It was a very good one. No zoom creep even. Went to FF and sold it to help fund the new FX 70-300 which is the only lens I ever bought new since the 18-200. If I was a DX shooter I'd never sell my 18-200. They don't bring much money at all these days. It has almost as much bad press as the 24-120 which are also very affordable now used.
  3. Mine stay put, in fact my one-handed cap removal try rarely works. Takes two hands to get it off.
  4. Clearly they don't care. Some of the serial numbers will become known by Nikon corporate, lots more could be discovered with a little more sophisticated investigation. The responsible party could be dealt with by Nikon if they wanted to.
  5. Surprised their legit importers don't complain. Most mfgrs protect their wholesaler chain.
  6. Given the easy availability of gray market Nikons, I wonder how they get from the factory into the seller's hands. Seems Nikon could shut this down easily.

    Stolen D800?

In my area, I often see D850's and even Z6's offered at half current going prices (on offerup / craigslist). Obvious scams but I've quit reporting them since they stay up continuously.
  8. I have these guys make 'em: Strapworks - Straps, Webbing, Tie-Downs, Buckles & More
  9. Sounds like the problem is not so much how many bits are required to label the lens if the meter adjustment software is 'off' even for prime lenses.
  10. Here in South Texas, water heaters and quite a few pipes are often found in the attic. Often with unhappy results.
  11. sharkbite and such things are hurting plumbers big time and us amateurs can even buy pex stuff However, a good plumber has a strong back and no fear of ladders so I'm happy to use them.
  12. I'm having great luck with my en el3's, even a couple (black ones without the extra monitoring pin) that I got with a craigslist D100. Got 7 total from my D90 & D7100 days. YmmV
  13. Nikon sure makes a lot of 70-300 versions. I've had two, and will stop at the FF VR non-P.
  14. 28-80mm G Nikon 3.3-5.6 is a terrific lens for taking pictures, not so much as to looks or build quality. I use mine more than I will admit to.
