1. The new design surprised me, and after some tries with it, I found it was easier to leave and not come back as frequently as I have in the past, which is now down to once a week. I won't argue the old design was old, but it was simple, easy to navigate and worked. The new design is far from that. I prefer seeing my account page than my galleries after logging it. And I still don't like the design doesn't automatically accommodate narrower browser windows to scroll left or right but jumbles it up where it's hard to see the top banner options. And overall it's seems it's more about looks than use.
 2. It won't store the updates to user profile, such as user home page and address. Is there some trick to this or something I'm missing?
 3. The new design does not accommodate browser windows narrower than the design width of the page, which is bigger than it needs to be to display everything. It scrunches everything lost to the right to the right side of the window and overlaps other displays on the Web page. It would help if it ignored window size, displayed the pages correctly, and let users scroll left or right. Now users have to expand their browser window to display the pages correctly and then resize afterward. I won't get into the overall design, yet anyway.
 4.
Like many here, I use a Time Machine for backups as I work but make overnight copies of all 4 Mac's HD's and a clone of HD for alternate boot up to other HD's. Time Machine is good for older than one day, going back as long as the Time Machine's HD will hold backups. Time Machine is one of those things you rarely need but really need it when you do. The only problem users have with Time Machine is OS-X (MacOS now) updates often rewrites the Time Machine backup software where it often doesn't work or works intermittently on some Macs. This is the current situation with MacOS 10.12.X.

 5.
What's the problem with the one you have? Domain Name registars do two simple things, keep your domain name yours and point to the domain name host, connecting the name and IP address. Usually you use an intermediary to the registar. You can change the intermediary but not the registar (Tucows Domains Inc in my case). I use Dotster as the intermediary to keep my DNS updated with domain name host and owner information. I pay $75 for 5 year extensions and keep the information correct.

 6.
You can follow the Rogue River from Gold Beach to Agness, just north of the confluence with the Illinois River (used to service the gages with 2 miles of there). There are several resorts to stay and see the area. You can also drive up the Rogue River to the bridge which goes over to Powers in the Coquille River basin (used to service those gages too) and to highway 101 to Bandon or Coos Bay. Nice loop drive to see the Oregon Coast Range and towns.

 7.
I sold most of my entire collection of Minolta manual focus equipment going back to the early 1960's, keeping about a dozen of the nearly 100 pieces of cameras, lenses, etc., to KEH. Most of it was esoteric and collectable equipment so KEH agreed to the rest collection for those items. I kept my original SRT model, my first X-700 with MD-1, and a brand new (in the box) XD11, probably the best camera they made, along with 8 lenses and a Tamron 300mm f2.8 with both multipliers and MC/MD and Canon EOS (5D and 1N) adaptors.

 8.
I have an original 5D with motor drive which I like but would part with. I use it with an EOS-1N. I agree, however, you'd be better served with a 5D II or III if you can afford it.

 9.
I use a GoPro Hero (first model) camera on (inside) windshield mount of my '91 Vanagon Syncro. I use it for documenting trips. Sometimes I've left it on while parked, eg. first car loaded on Washington State ferry to get video of the trip and crew on arrival in Seattle. Newer models have bluetooth to view and control via iPhone. I have newer Hero 4 mounted on the top of the back window.

 10.
The old version has problems with Safari browser, the log in window locks and crashes the application. I used Sea Monkey to log in and write this (don't have Chrome or Firefox browsers). And the old version uses the old password. The new version didn't recognize the old password and changing it wasn't recognized by the old version. Or at least, that's my experience.

 11.
Mine was being pulled aside while disembarking a Washington State ferry years ago for taking photos on the auto deck. Several ferry workers reported me and the Washington State Patrol (authority over ferry riders) pointed my van aside and asked questions. I showed them the images in the camera and the portfolios I've put on the Web (here) and on my iPad. The WSP officers laughed and called me "just another dumb photographer". I now keep a letter from the Washington State ferry office citing the law allowing me to photograph on the auto deck so long the photos aren't of "critical" operations.

It's funny a few month later the news reported two walk-on ("Middle Eastern looking") riders rode on half a dozen ferry rides over a few days testing doors and taking photos of secure access places and operations in plane sight of riders and workers, and they weren't stopped, let alone questioned. The got off the last ride and never identified (despite extensive video camera on ferries) or seen again.

 12.
I've always used 35mm camera with my 4x5 work with comparable focal length lenses. The 35mm allows me to get ready access to the images while waiting for the 4x5 film to come back from the lab. I will shoot the range of (separate) exposure readings with the digital, but use the light meter for the final 4x5 exposure.

 13.
I have for the last 40+ years or so for a lot of stuff, stereos camera gear, small kitchen appliances, etc. I've found it comes in handy when selling or shipping equipment that the original box is ready for shipping. I still have some boxes from the 1970's. I sold my Mac G-5 in 2010 and was able to ship it and the monitor in their original boxes with all the inside stuff to parts. And yes, one area of the garage is nothing but empty boxes and personal stuff.

 14.
Consider a Mac mini. They have limited ports but works great for work with few major software applications and large files. A friend has the highest model for her music production and iTunes music library (>125K songs) but nothing else. She has everything else on a laptop to minimize internet exposure with the mini.

 15.
I use FB for following friends and family and occasional interesting people, nothing more. I don't post photos or anything personal that I haven't already posted elsewhere. You can minimize you presence and use, and ignore the rest of it. I check it once or twice a week at most, some not at all, and I haven't missed anything important.
