1.
If We buy a CF card "Lexar Professional 128 MB 1033X" what would be the speed match in a SD Card ?

 2.
Thank you For your responses. I didn't know When using 2 cards The camera will only go as fast as its slowest card. We only have CF cards, We have not bought the other type of Card yet. I am learning a lot from this forum.

 3.
Thanks Marcus, food for thought...We have never shot in Crop mode before we will have to get our instruction book out to understand how.

 4.
We just bought the new Canon EOS 5DS R Camera and Our CF Cards are too slow for it. We use continual shooting mode a lot. We are using it for Nature and scenic mostly and happy with the cropping tight of Animals in the computer ...The Processing in camera is slow. We will be using the Video option some. I know we need The UDMA CF but what Size & Speed? I saw Lexar has various sizes and a speed of 1066 x. Is this a Reliable Brand or does anyone know a better one? This Camera is a 50 Mb size.

 5.
Thanks for your reply ....good question ....well, my Daughter got married last Nov. and some how that lens moved out with her...I didn't have the heart to ask her to trade me back for an old smaller standard zoom lens 28 - 80mm
Now both my husband and I have full frame camera bodies (5D MK 2 & 3 ) and I have a 24 to 105L lens but he doesn't have a standard zoom lens and he does not take care of them well enough to pay for another expensive lens...so That is why I am thinking of getting a replacement 28 to 135mm for under $300. He doesn't use it much any way. We did a niece's wedding this month and he got by with that old 28-80mm and the 75-300 IS mm. Occasionally we do relative weddings for free.
We also have a Canon 75 to 300 Image Stabilizer zoom (black) and He is interested in a White 70 to 200 zoom and the cheaper would be F4 with out IS, But I think IS is needed since he would rather not use a tripod. I can't decide if it is worth getting this lens when he can use the 75 to 300 IS with more zoom. We also have a Canon 500mm IS lens and a Canon 100 to 400 IS (Both white) to share when doing sports or wildlife. We have never considered a non Canon lens...and don't know what is good and what is not out there.
What do you think?

 6.
hummm.....Alan, Thanks for the info on Date codes, very good to know & I will save this info ... unfortunately, I don't think It will help me choose which used lens I want from Adorama though, They have several of the same used lens and I thought the serial # would help me choose one.
The lens is pre 2008 and if the code is stamped beside the rear lens element (medal end) I can't tell what year it was from. If it was in the serial # that would have been a help. I didn't choose the Canon Refurbished because it was $100 more and my husband doesn't treat equipment as well as I do so we thought save the $100.
shutterbug78

 7. is there a way to know what generation a 28-135 IS lens is? I want to buy a refurbished one that is younger than the one I used to have.
 8.
Hi Mark,
Good Question...how did it happen ? We can only guess...we discovered the problem a week after my Hubby used it at a Kids Birthday party in a bike riding type of play park. My husband set it on the end edge of a picnic table, upright in it's original carry bag... when I saw this I rescued It by laying it on it's side away from the edges of the table, protected from a roll.
But, we had 15 grandkids ages 10 and under plus a few of the kid's friends at the party...Hummmm ....an accident waiting to happen? Probably did already and some one picked it up with out telling us about it.
Yes my husband may have tightened it too tight...and the lens has been in many different environments over the last 12 years...
It has been repaired from falling off a tripod carried over my shoulder 2004 (Camera was not attached to tripod properly & Film camera had it's ribbon guts pulled out on impact on the road)... also was cleaned & Adjusted at least one other time in the last 2 years....not for locked up ring though.

 9.
Thank you all for you help. I think I will go ahead and repair it for now.

 10.
Hello, anyone out there know if the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM Tele zoom lens Has been upgraded sinse 2002 ? Glass & Coatings ? Mine was bought in 2002 and the lock ring is stuck ...I need to know if I should send it in to repair it or should I buy a newer hopefully upgraded version. The new Canon 200 - 400 is out of my price range ($11,000). I also own the 500mm which I love but we need a more light weight portable lens too. I like the zoom on the 100-400. Thanks for your input, Shutterbug78
