1. thanks so are good valid points. I probably would not take the zoom but my partner always wants me to take it and when I don't he says See there is something you should have it for.... I have been in that situation before where I get "camera bag lag" from lugging too much. the travel tripod will stay in the room and only bring it out for specific requirements such as when I want to do some long exposure. I don't have the 10-18 yet but really am going to buy it. I had debated about the 11-22 but most reviews said do the 10-18 this trip is to a few places in Mexico (Merida, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato and PV)
 2. Hi, I have been trying to come up with the perfect travel kit for canon 7d I am thinking my 24-105, 55-250 (I know that the lower end is covered already), and then my 50mm I am thinking about adding a 10-18 Thoughts
 3.
Hi,
I have a canon 7d and I am debating currently between these two. I was firs thinking canon partly because the price point is so amazing. but at the store the other day one of the people there said the sigma is far better.

 4.
Hi,
I want to add a new lens to my kit. I have been thinking about a wide angle lens or a super zoom. I think I would get more use out of a wide angle lens. I have been thinking about the canon 10-18 because of the excellent reviews overall and the cost factor.
As for the superzoom I have not been able to make any firm choices.

I currently have and use:
Canon 7d
canon 24-105
Canon 50ml
Tamron 18-55

What I don't use is
canon 17-85(covered)- will be selling
Canon 20D (only used a back up)
Canon 75-300 (old lens I don't like it was part of my first starting kit will sell even though its worth nothing)

thanks!

 5.
thanks! I have actually been thinking and I think the mefoto backpack might be the way to go for versatility and it is only a few inches longer folded up.
So you are suggesting to just use a plain old backpack and not a camera bag? I currently have a tenba and i love it but the tripod really won't fit anywhere well.
Although I am limiting my lenses when I travel these days.

 6.
I am finding I require a travel tripod. I tend to travel very light on all levels and carrying a full size tripod is just out of the question. I have a gorilla pod but I find that it really is not sufficient for what I want to do.
I have been conserving three different tripods. I want it to be able to fit in my carry on. It does not have to fit in my camera bag but it would be nice as I really only travel now with my canon 24-105 and my 50mm.
Currently the three I am considering is:
Mefoto Daytrip (what I like is that it really folds up to a small 9.4 inches but extended to 24inches I worry if that will be tall enough)
Afaith Portable Desktop (what I like is that it fold to a small 7.87 inches and the price is really affordable I worry that 16.53 extended won't be tall enough)
Mefoto Backpacker (what I love is that it extended to 51.2, but folded the 12.6 is getting a bit on the long side)
Any thoughts are appreciated.

 7.
thanks Kenneth do you think the small would be better than the mini?

 8.
I am not crazy about those add a case things. Also I don't think I can really afford to buy both because I would do that if I could

 9.
I have narrowed down what I think could be the perfect bag after a lot of research. I started by deciding that most important feature to me was being able to access equipment from the top without having to open a flap.... this is something I have on my current bag which is wearing out which and a feature I love and am use to.
So i have narrowed it to the mini and the small. I know the small will fit everything that I have (canon 7d, 24-105, 50ml, 17-50, flash accessories and ipad mini) I am looking at getting one more lens that tamron 70-300.
I am not sure if the mini would fit all of this. the tenba web site says a small and a mini will hold DSLR plus 2-3 lenses plus a flash.
The size of the SMALL is: 16.5W X 11.5H X 5.5-8.5 in and the MINI is: 14W X 10.5H X 4-6 in
I am worried that the Small will be just a bit big for everyday use but that the MINI would be a bit small for the odd occaision like travel when I would like to carry all of my gear.
thoughts?

 10.
well I am not planning in the near future but I love the image qualities I get from the 24-105 when I bought the lens I got a killer deal was too hard to pass up.

I am thinking the 55-250 might be a good lens to have in my kit but I always sort of avoid the kit lens. I would not use the 70-300 all that often.
Would any of the other tamrons be a better choice?

 11.
I am confused over which is the best of these two. I know the canon would have the best build quality but what about in terms of the sharpness of the images etc......
I do like the extra reach of the 70-300 but would I get a lot of use out of the 55-250 when I already have a 24-105 which I LOVE...... would the 55-250 replace that for travel to me only having one lens but would I be happy enough with the images for it to be my main walk around lens?
Otherwise when I travel I would take my 17-55 or my 50 plus my 24-105 and then the 70-300?

 12.
I am debating between these two right now myself and I have had some people say canon all the way but other say the tamron is amazing. Very torn...

 13.
i would love the 70-200 but I heard it is a bit heavy with no IS..... and I would like something with a longer zoom...... so I am now thinking do I go tamron 70-300 or something else.

 14.
Let me start by saying I understand that some of the ones I am considering are not in the quality of my canon 24-105. That is my fav lens.
I am looking for a zoom to compliment my travel bag when I don't really want to travel with 5 lenses.
My current equipment is
canon 7d, 24-105 tamron 17-55 and canon 50ml, flash. I also have a 70 or 75-300 canon that came when I first got my camera years and years and years ago I never use it hate the quality. It is the one that is the old one that has had terrible reviews.
I will always travel with my 24-105.... but I want a zoom lens that I can use as an all purpose lens for travel as well.
considering
canon 18-200
tamron 18-270
tamron 16-300

which is the best of these and also is there something that I might not be thinking about that would work.
Thanks in advance.
