Because I wouldn't receive any emails since I haven't used that email in years and it is no longer active or accessible. But thanks for reply. And actually I did post my question later with that sign-in so I just have to check for replies.

Hi: When trying to get the shutter count on a Fujifilm x100t, do you look at the number under "shutter count" (in set up menu) and multiply by 100? So if it says 1700, for example, is shutter count 170,000? Thank you.

No annoying!!! I no longer have, or have access to, the email I used years ago when I signed up for Photo.net. It's how I signed in just now to post this. But I tried to sign up anew with my new email address and went thru the steps and waited for activation email. No activation email. So I hit 'send again' and it said this account has already been activated. Um. Nope. So I tried to sign in with new email and new password and it said the account hasn't get been activated. (No kidding). So frustrating. So I tried several times and it wouldn't send me activation email because it said it was already activated. I go to sign in and it says hasn't been activated yet. <p>Thank you Dieter. I just saw that post of yours with the thread. I am here to announce the cap is now off!!! And no damage (I hope) to the TC or the cap. I just put a little more muscle and gentle pulling into the jiggling. Off it came. So I've practiced gingerly putting it on and off a few times but I twist only enough that it doesn't fall off. <br> Thanks so much for the help everyone!! Truly appreciate it. </p>

<p>Me too. Given that it's a fairly common problem I was hoping I'd have it off by now. That link was interesting. I'd be willing to damage the cap but I would be afraid of damaging the lens too. Thanks for checking in with me. </p>

<p>Thank you Shun Cheung, No I still haven't been able to get it off and I've been spending a fair amount of time on it. So I'm pretty frustrated. I've been holding it upside down and just wiggling and jiggling. Thanks for the diagrams and advice. I'll look to see what position the dots are in not. <br> Thanks Rodeo Joe. Right, I totally agree on the importance of a cap to protect the glass. But if I ever get it off I can't risk this happening again. I will try to rig something up to protect it that can also be removed. </p>

Nick, you're right, I'm probably trying too hard and need to be more delicate.<br> I doubt I will put it back on if I ever get it off. </p>

And it's good to know how to replace it back again properly.<br> Thanks Rodeo Joe for that suggestion.<br> I contacted my friend and he said the cap is quirky and it did this right out of the box brand new and you just have to hold the release down and jiggle it and it should come off. So I guess it just does this and you have to get accustomed to it. OK. So I'll keep trying. Good to know I'll get it eventually. </p> <p> </p>

It's the actual screws that are moving around, sliding back and forth freely.<br> Now I have a second problem. I wanted to take a photo for you of the screws so just now I went to take off the lighter colored thinner lens cap and I cannot get it off. Something is holding it down. I got it off fine the first time, earlier today. Now I can move it a bit and it lifts somewhat but at one point on the circle it's being held down. Any ideas? <br> Thank you!</p>

<p>Hi: I just received a used Nikon teleconverter 1.4x II. It looks and feels great, well-packaged, box, paperwork, etc...... from a trusted acquaintance. My question is, are the two little screws recessed in front supposed to slide back and forth freely? <br /> When I took it out of packaging to have a look I noticed something was shaking around freely inside so this concerned me. Flopping it back and forth a few times I discovered it was these two little screws sliding in a semi-circular slider. Is that the way it's supposed to be or are they supposed to be fixed and stationary?<br /> I searched on the 'net but did not find anything about this. <br /> Thank you.</p>

<p>Wow, that's very troubling. It sure doesn't look new, although I read Mr. Posner's comment that he verified it was new. Also troubling is the shoddy packaging with the absence of B&H tape and paperwork. Worse, now a second poster on this thread reports a similar anonymous-appearing shipment of a camera (!) from B&H. I hope they are not getting penny wise and pound foolish with their shipping because I definitely will hesitate to buy a $5,000 camera if this is how it's going to be shipped. I was hoping the OP was an isolated mishap but now there are two. </p>
