1. Sunset in Bandon, Oregon last Saturday (8-26-17).
 2.
I have not noticed the problem in my D750 but when I went to Nikon online, it said my serial number was affected. So I shipped it off yesterday. But I was going to do it anyway because of a different problem. Occasionally, the camera freezes in the middle of operation. That is, when I trip the shutter, even with plenty of battery power, nothing happens, except for an hourglass icon that appears in the monitor. Fortunately, I've been able to get past this problem by removing the battery, then reinserting it. But obviously, this is not normal and warrants attention.
I'm hoping for a swift correction to the freeze problem. And if they find a flare issue and fix that too, great. Gotta go back to my D200 in the meantime.

 3.
Shortly before sunrise, Mount Hood looms in the distance as fog wafts over farm fields in Washington County, Oregon.

 4.
We've had an unusually dry winter in the Portland, Oregon area (and all of the Pacific Northwest, for that matter). I shot this about 40 minutes prior to sunrise on March 1. Flanking the St. Johns Bridge is Mount St. Helens on the left and Mount Adams on the right.

 5.
Here's the last of the three, Horsetail Falls, with plenty of ice all around. Wind was blowing so hard and the air temp was so cold that icicles formed sideways (kid you not).

 6.
The granddaddy of Oregon waterfalls, Multnomah Falls, which rises more than 600 feet, also put on a show.

 7.
Stiff winds combined with frigid temperatures to create surreal, ice landscapes around the waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge last week. I'm posting three images, one of each waterfall I photographed. Here is Lower Latourell Falls.

 8.
Thanks to everyone who commented on the images I posted this week. Wish you all could have been there to experience the splendor for yourselves.

 9.
Here is #2 image, which was about a half-hour after sunrise. Converted to B/W in post-processing. No filters used in either shot.

 10.
Been a while since I've posted here. Was privileged to witness a glorious sunrise on Nov. 8 that included Mount Hood, fiery sky and treetops poking through fog blanketing the Sandy River Valley (Oregon). #1 is a color version captured about a half-hour before sunrise. Noise from my 8-year-old camera is higher than I'd like but I think the shot is passable.

 11.
Last one from Crater Lake. The rock formation in the foreground is known as Phantom Ship. In the distance is Mount Thielsen.

 12.
Crater Lake National Park, Wizard Island.

 13.
Crater Lake National Park, southern Oregon. From The Watchman fire lookout.
