+1 for the 85 Z. From my past experience with F mount f1.4s, they needed stopping down to at least f2/f2.8 for usable results. I had an 85mm 1.4 D for a while and the purple/green fringing was 'troublesome', by all accounts the Sigma is a really good lens and is probably much improved. The Z 1.8 is essentially good at any aperture (at least until diffraction kicks in). Also, despite its length it is very light and good for extended use where a 70-200 would be much more cumbersome. I could also make an argument for the Plena, but I'm still trying to talk myself out of that.... 😇

The PDF reference guide runs to 87 (small) pages. At least we can't blame Nikon for not being thorough.

The usual pain-free update, probably about 6 minutes as usual. The only difference is you have to do it twice to get the GPS update.

Nikon to Acquire US Cinema Camera Manufacturer RED
Rob Davies replied to ShunCheung's topic in Nikon
Irrespective of what products they may introduce this year, this will be the most massive news we hear for sure. Thinking back, I can't think of anything of this magnitude happening since I've used Nikon gear (just over 40 years). Not that I'm particularly interested in video though, that may also change in the future. -

That's probably the most important deal in decades. Combine that with the recent coverage of the NASA collaboration and you suddenly appreciate how far Nikon has pulled it all back together in the last 5 years. -
