1.
Owned a Nikon F with a few lenses at the time I purchased my XA when they first came out. No question about the image quality from that truly pocket camera. At first it was the camera's size that attracted buyers. Wasn't long before the lens quality drew attention. Great camera. Carried it everywhere for about 10 years.

 2.
Used a 124G while on the college yearbook staff in the early 70's. Eventually graduated to Mamiya TLR's. After college finally broke down an purchased a Rollei F2.8 to shoot weddings. Always loved the results of TLR's because they force one to slow down to compose and focus. Very different approach from the 35mm SLR's that were popular at that time. When Yashica' TLR's were at the end of their run some NYC discount stores were closing them out for less than $150.

 3. ORWO also made some pretty good black & white films that were available trough Freestyle mail order. I had some great results with their 100/125 ASA (not sure of the asa?) film processed in D76.
 4.
You will need to set your shutter speed to 1/60th or maybe 1/125th for the flash to synch with the camera. Not sure of the synch on that camera. A dedicated flash would have set it automatically when it turned on.
