  1. Robert, that's just jaw dropping. I owned a IT company until I gave it to my employees upon my retirement, since then have completely ignored computers, if I couldn't do it with my iPhone or iPad, it proberly wasn't that important. Very cheap lasers six years ago were $250.00- $400. $40 bucks y'all just got to laugh at. Plus the specs are better than many of the lasers we had in our office. Geez
  2. Thanks Brooks Your comments about the all in one vs the flatbed are valid. I will probably lean to both, easier for the wife is the only reason. Plus I didn't see many Photo type printers that offer the iOS printing options that we desired. I do admit I really enjoy the process of taking the picture going through LR and PS then printing it. The flatbed scanner is going to be used to convert all my negatives, slides to digital format. And one last bit of Infothe small brother are highly rated little printers, monthly service cycle is around 2500 pages
  3. Thanks for the input. Interesting that I have looked at the smaller brother lasers for our day to day text use. Walmart has the 2340 on sale for $109 today which is a great price, have pretty much decided to go for the Epson AIO XP 950 for the occasional prints I do. Since wife and I are both retired I really looked at my printing needs. For the most part I may print maybe 5-10 pages of text a month. Wife said she may print 10-20 pages a month at the most so we decided to postpone the laser for awhile we are going to keep an accurate log just to see how much we actually need the laser. But considering I can upload images directly to COSTCO then either ship them directly to us or drive three miles and pick them up for fraction for I can print them my self you have to think about it.
  4. <p>if you really want a wide angle on a dx sensor you have to start really wide, therefore i suggest the tokina 11-16 (older) or the newer 11-20. excellent lens, shooting at 11mm is about to a 17mm, a 20mm is equiv. to a 30 mm lens. <br> i use it on my d7100 with good results.</p>
  5. <p>Just don't understand why my epson stylus photo r300 had decided to expire on me after only 13 years of service. I guess they just make em like they use to.<br /> In all seriousness, have made the upgrade from the winter world to the iMac environment. and Need a replacement all in one printer that will work with el capitan <br /> Little background: I don't print all that many photo's find that Costco is far cheaper and faster than printing them myself. Even when printing wall hanging stuff i will use Costco services as a digital proof before going to my pro lab down the road from me. <br /> What printing I do is small batches of 4x6 , an occasional 5x7 and the rare 8x10. so the printer will be used as for day to day work, text, scanner/copier and pics. i do like the epson printers that allow you to print on dvd/cdrs. <br /> so the questions is any opinions on the epson expression premium all in ones? looking at either the xp 630 or the xp 950? would appreciate opinions on the 6 ink vs 5 ink systems. my old r300 is a six ink version.<br /> it does look like the large capacity ink cartridge has 2-3 times the capacity of my old printer for slightly less money, so this is a winner for me. <br /> oh and am purchasing a separate scanner for my extensive, negative, slide library that i am digitizing. Im considering the epson v550. any suggestions would be appreciated.</p> <p>thanks <br /> Richard</p> <p> </p>
  6. It only gets worse, wait till you start getting the little tremors that makes it hard to hold your camera still. Keep increasing the shutter speed I guess
  7. I own a d90 and the d7100. I loved the d90, I didn't feel that the d7000 was going to offer me that much more. The d7000 is a great camera but for your budget the d90 purchase would give you some budget left for lens options. Such as the 35mm/1.8 dx. Awesome lens on the d90
  8. I went from a d90 to a d7100. Big difference. But I would seriously look at the d5300. Excellent dslr. One pro for the d7100. Is the much improved weather sealing. Something to consider while you are trapping through the outdoors
