1. I would like to cancel as I no longer use this website..I do not see the above screen shot when I open "Control my account"
  2. A refurbished D800e body @ Nikon USA online is priced as much as a new D810 + extras...such an offer makes no sense for a buyer shopping for an FX DSLR. I'd be happy if Nikon were to discount refurbished D800e then it would interest me. (I have two that I bought new)
  3.
Thanks, this is so interesting and nostalgic, oh to have my old issues of Modern Photography ..my first SLR was a used Asahi Pentax with no light meter, bought in 1974.

  4.
This opinion might be due to my age but I do find 1.0 easier to navigate - I never had any complaints about the original format.

    Liam's 1st Birthday

I love this photo, so natural to see this little guy enjoying his oversized cupcake!
  6.
Here in the US, Canon Online Store sells a refurbished 5DMkiii body for $2099 with a 1 year warranty...only $400 less than new but for us amateurs that savings can be used towards a lens, accessories, etc.

  7. I used to own this lens but never managed to produce such a beautiful nocturnal sky landscape image; to me this photo does not have an artificial look.
  8.
The D800e has been my only camera for the last two years; during this time I have trying to find 3 lenses that cover all my amateur photography needs. With the 60mm G as a normal & close focus lens and the 70-200mm VRii for slightly more distant subjects, I wanted something wider than my 35mm f/1.4 G. I tried a 24mm f/1.8 G, bought mine a month later and sold the 35mm. This new lens seems sharp and I appreciate its low weight/portability.

  9. ...and very close, what detail. I love your entire series of sea birds, very nice captures!
  10.
Shun, this posting disappeared from my computer - I just came across your question today. I am quite happy with the my 50mm & 35mm Sigma ART lenses. The Sigma seems to have lower distortion than the Nikon, nice color & sharpness.

    the last kiss

I absolutely love this humorous yet somehow sad food photo; nice use of blurred background, my attention is immediately drawn to the piglet´s smiling face...parece más bien "una última sonrisa" pero "El ultimo beso" suena más tierno.
  12.
I always kept the lens hood attached to my 50mm f1.4, while shooting and in the camera bag to protect the front part of the lens; my copies were very sharp.

  13.
Thanks Mike, that escaped me; just checked photozone's f4VR analysis - as I had imagined that VRii @200mm is a tough act to follow.

  14.
Thank you, precisely what I was trying to find; the woodgrain is noticeably more detailed in the 300mm photo.

  15.
Dan Brown, forgive this "apples to oranges" question ( posted elsewhere with no replies) about IQ for a particular purpose: I use my D800/ 70-200mm VRii in my kayak for NH/ME coastal and back channel photography, with the lens glued @200mm. If it would be nice to have more reach/less weight without sacrificing resolution, etc. As I have aged, walking up to Bubble Rock in Acadia Park with heavy gear has become more challenging; this 300m might be handy in such situations also. Can you or any other forum member compare this new lens with the zoom@200mm?
