I believe the mounts are never used.

I have several dozens rolls of unmounted slides. So I bought a box of Kaiser slide mounts (shown here). The box said the plastic mounts are to be used by Kaiser slide micromounter. I guess the mounter is something like this, but unfortunately it was sold. I don't have the mounter. And I tried to hand-press the two pieces together to no avail. The pins on one piece fit to the holes of the other piece of each pair of mount. However, I cannot make them stay together. Basically the pins do not grab anything, just fall in and out of the holes easily. Is there a way to use these mounts without a micromounter? Many thanks in advance!
