I think this image holds such an appeal because of so many lines handled so well. Well done, Mick.

    Hyde St. Pier.jpg

Once an automobile ferry terminal, the Hyde St. Pier in San Francisco is now home to historical ships like the Balclutha, an 1886 square rigged sailing ship and the Eureka, a side-wheel paddle steamboat and many working boats including those bringing fresh seafood to the dockside restaurants including a favorite, and somewhat pricey Scoma’s. (But as once explained to me, you are not just paying for an excellent meal but also the view.)
  2. The oblique angle makes this special. Excellent work.

“If you go off onto a beach far, far away and get very quiet, you’ll come to understand that you’re connected with everything” – drawing from the words of Alan Watts. (A beach on Kaua'i)

    Mad Dash

I think it is the blend of clarity, movement and the diagonal that gives this image strength. Well done, Reg.
  5. Fascinating. The illusion of flat adds to the illusion of the 3 dimensional.
  6. Dramatic and beautiful. Leaving the "Prairie Angel" in shadow seems a perfect touch.

    Spring

I think it is the oblique angle that makes this powerful. Seems a special "seeing" to recognize this perspective. Excellent work, Evgeni.
  8. George, I conclude I am not smart enough to comment appropriately about your remarkable art. So I owe you an apology for not often commenting as I should. I suspect there hasn’t been the unique style of art that is yours – that composites the subjective (the mind, the imagination, consciousness) and the objective (this illusory universe of matter) in such amazingly creative and masterful ways. I think if I were able to create art this unique I would feel I have fulfilled a destiny of sort.

So much arrayed so well. The hint of HDR works well here.
  10. I have only to look closer at your creations to be even more amazed. Brilliant work, George.

    CHARSHICUTEPLAIN

The parallaxing lines of the building and the unique subdued hues bring mystery and intrigue to this scene - the Dumas effect. Excellent work.

    FISH FIND EDGES

The effect fills the frame powerfully. Excellent work, Pierre.
