1.
David,

I'm sure you've found a solution by now, but do you think this knob is sized correctly to replace the Mamiya film advance knob? http://amzn.to/2dbvzUE

I'm curious because my knob came loose from my film back and I can't find it.

Peter

 2.
I have fresh batteries in my SB-28, and it fires both on and off camera, however, the display is either very dim or entirely blank. It is not in standby mode. Can anyone tell me why or suggest a solution? Thanks in advance for your help.

 3.
Hello Chris,
It's up for auction on eBay. Here's a link: http://ebay.to/1TLpAmg

 4.
I've got an AE Power Winder FN I'd like to sell, but I'm not sure if it works or not. I no longer have a camera to attach it to for testing.
I've placed four fresh AA batteries in it but it shows no signs of life. Should I assume it's dead or must it be attached to a camera to work?
Thanks for any help the forum can provide.

 5.
Richard and Howard,
To answer your questions, I'm transferring the files with a card reader. I'm not processing them. I'm checking the profiles with Camera Raw, Photoshop and Aperture.
Yes, the files begin with "_"
Thanks.

 6.
I think I've come up with a partial answer. Whether the file is RAW or a jpeg, when I open it in Adobe Camera Raw or CS3 Photoshop, the profile remains AdobeRGB.
However, when I import a RAW or jpeg file into Aperture and then export a version, I see an Embedded Profile Mismatch window, because the embedded profile is sRGB. And if I export a jpeg as an an original, I'm told it is missing a profile.
So apparently the problem is in my Aperture settings. Not sure of my next step.

 7.
I've set the color space for my Nikon D700 to Adobe RGB. However, the files that result have an embedded sRGB profile. Is there a way I can correct that? Is my camera malfunctioning?
Thanks in advance for your help.

 8.
My Leitz Tiltall tripod has served me well for more than 30 years, but suddenly it's nearly impossible to raise or lower the center column without exerting a lot of force. The pan function works perfectly, however. Can anyone suggest a solution? Thanks in advance for any help provided.

 9.
I carelessly failed to check on some bricks of 120-sized Ilford FP4 that I was keeping on ice during a road trip. When I checked the cooler, the ice had melted and the water had penetrated the cellophane wrapping around each brick, soaking the cardboard boxes the film came in. I thought the foil wrapper around each individual roll would keep the film dry, but when I opened one today, it was wet.
Have I ruined 30 rolls of film or can I open each foil package and let the rolls air dry? I don’t want to put damp film in a Mamiya 7II.

 10.
I've been working with the CLE and haven't had a problem. The eyepiece is plastic, as others have suggested. Thanks.

 11.
Thanks you, Geoffrey. Your suggestion is right on. I tried a different brand of battery (Radio Shack rather than Energizer) and that solved the problem.

 12.
For what it's worth, an Energizer A544 battery, which is billed as a replacement for 4LR44, did not work in my Mamiya 7II. Nor did a couple of CR1/3N batteries that Radio Shack sold me.
In the end, the only battery I was successful in using was a Radio Shack PX28A. I think there may be a very small but critical difference in the size of the batteries, as suggested by Geoffrey Williams.

 13.
Hello Pietro,
I'm using a 6 volt Energizer A544 alkaline battery, a replacement for the 4LR44 battery specified in the Mamiya 7 manual. I've switched between two A544s just to ensure one wasn't bad. I'll look for a L28 lithium battery and see if that makes a difference.
I do hear a mechanical click when I turn the camera from the off to the on position. However, the shutter does not release in multi-exposure mode.
Thanks for your suggestions.
PC

 14.
Thanks, Peter. I put a roll of film in the camera and had the same problems.

 15.
I’ve purchased a used Mamiya 7II on eBay.
Despite using a fresh battery, there are no lights showing in the viewfinder when I run the battery check (page 9 of the manual). Nor am I able to release the shutter per the camera function test (page 14.) Although a red warning light is supposed to appear if the shutter isn’t tripped, that doesn’t happen.
The lens is mounted properly and the dark slide is in the open position. I'm assuming the viewfinder should display a light even without film in the camera. Am I doing something wrong or should I return the camera?
Thanks in advance for any help the readers of this forum might provide.
