Great photograph; love the title even if it did telegraph the impending ambush. -
What I enjoy about this particular photograph is how it opens up and tells me more as I look at it longer. By this, I mean I start to see patterns (maybe unintended). We have the large silver circular object in the lower right and then there is a smaller silver circular knob. I note a longer, small rectangle in the middle upper left and then I spot the two square vents that form their own longer rectangle and I start thinking in terms of twos. Two areas of plant life, one more pruned and wrestled into place by mankind, the other a little more untamed. I spot the red tag, I spot the black and white tag. I see two clasps or clamps. I'm not saying Jack saw the same patterns I saw when he photographed this or that my vision of this photograph even matters. What I am saying is that this photograph is abstract enough to free the viewers mind to try and make sense of it. I think there is value in this kind of photograph where at first glance it seems so simple, so mundane. But then it opens up and you're seeing so much more. It's a good photograph to have on the wall of an office, because you'll pass by it briefly every day and every now and then, something new will pop into your mind. A little zen. -

Very sharp image! I don't know if I would have realized the two sources of energy aspect if I hadn't read it in the critiques, but having had my eye pointed in the right direction, it add a beautiful subtext to an already attractive shot. You did a great job developing the sun. It doesn't look blown out, rather it makes me want to squint my eyes. -

I'd turn in 90 degrees counter clockwise so that the ship I see would be the proper orientation for sailing. Nicely captured. -
I wouldn't be surprised to see this hanging in a museum of modern art, a subtler less colorful Mondrian. -
I think it makes a great photograph. Interesting set of tracks. -

Thank you Drew, Jack, I was having fun playing around with the shots from this festival, trying to place the photographs a bit more firmly into the time these participants created their wardrobes for. -
