1. Walter if you save user setting you should not be having this problem if you switch to af-s in middle of a shoot when you have set camera up as af-c...it will always revert back to af-c if camera turned off and back on again.
 2.
I recently purchased a D7100 refurb from Cameta..could not be happier. 1151 clicks on the shutter and looks brand new. Not sure what others have purchased from them but I received the camera in three days..with all the bells and whistles included and the camera is virtually like new. Works perfectly and replaces my other d7100 which was on its last legs. Price was half of what I paid two years ago..I am a happy camper!

 3.
Would have been nice upgrade to change the body to something similiar to D750 with a tilt screen. I think more people would have jump to this from D5000 and D3000 who are use to the tilt screen .

 4.
I have had great luck with my lenses and cameras. Always honored the 5 year warrenty and in fact fixed a D7000 out of warrenty once..the live view button was broken and had been fixed once so they reparied it again for me out of warrenty. Love Nikon.

 5. I owned the Tamron 200-500 and recently sold it for $400. I found it to be reasonable sharp and light weight I just got their new one so I suspect the old version will flooding the ebay site:-)
