  1. Is that June Lockhart doing that commercial?
  2. The concept of having to buy a new bulb for every photo shot is pretty crazy in today's thinking. One step more advanced than flash powder. I remember 400 ISA film was pretty cutting edge, and then the concept of pushing the ISA in the 1970s and telling them to push the ISA in developing. And now using today's cameras, we have come a long way. I just posted a shot in Canon Photo Thursday, shooting with no flash and ISO 32000.
  3. Happy Thursday Welcome to Canon Photo Thursday. Time to share your epic, fun, cool, and/or interesting photo with everyone here on PN. Show us your vision, your style, your projects, your travels, adventures, photo mission s or just something you shot that captured your fancy. You all know the drill, post one, two, three, or more photos shot from your Canon EOS Camera (SLR or DSLR or Mirrorless, PowerShot, Rangefinder). Was your camera made by Canon? If so, post your shots. Goofing around with the camera testing using a tablet to remote shoot the day before the eclipse. Canon 5D MK IV - Sigma 50 mm f/1.4 32000 ISO
  4. Here is a blast from the past. How it used to be. LINK

  6. It was a clear morning and day right up until the eclipse. Once again these are the cards I was dealt from Southeastern Pennsylvania. Still consider myself lucky to have experienced this and pulled off about 500 shots.
  7. It would be nice if lenses just had an old school manual aperture on the lens. Did we really need the camera to do this. OK, yes there are those automatic modes. My 5D MK IV shutter speed dial has gotten a little stiff, but it has a lot of miles, probably due for a good going over from Canon service center. I can't imagine how many shutter activations I must have, I got the camera around September of 2016. The camera has traveled from Florida to Alaska, Maine to San Diego to Washington and across 46 states, at least 8 or more trips across the USA, shot weddings... honestly this has been a great camera. I had the 6D, great camera too for what it is, though I thought some of the buttons felt kind of consumer level and not pro. But it sure took nice photos, even in lower light. I traveled through San Francisco and Colorado with the 6D, even shot some weddings and Bar Mitzvahs and captured beautiful images. I have seen videos of guys opening these cameras up and disassembling them to replace parts. Probably doable for someone trained with the right tools. I was an electronics repair tech back in the 1980's, but I wouldn't tackle it, this stuff is built by elves. lol.

  9. I should order some solar eclipse glasses, less than $10 off Amazon. I think I saw Best Buy had some, and Lowes may be selling them according to the internet. What filter did you get? I have a couple ND filters, a 4 and an 8, not sure if it would be enough, I did get a shot back in 2017 through clouds with that set up. Guess I could Google best filters
  10. The light over the table and the one behind me create a nice even soft light, barely a soft shadow on that table. i could shoot portraits in that room, no soft box needed, though a tripod and slower shutter speed would be needed to get the ISO down.. You should see the shots I get with the Galaxy s21 plus, I have many more as that camera is always in my pocket. lol.

  13. I would think by now, the public would be used to celebrity's photos being manipulated. Models, movie stars...fake, fake, fake. Now it's a shocker. I think they could afford a good retouching photo editor. Wasn't AI or the hand would have 6 fingers.
