1. Hello! I am going to be shooting in snowy conditions for the first time, and I am feeling slightly overwhelmed. I've been doing some research, and it seems like manually overexposing 1-2 stops is the general consensus. What do you think? I plan on mostly shooting portraits of my family. I'm shooting with a Pentax K-1000, and I have 400 Tri-X, TMax, and HP5 to choose from. Which film do you think would serve the purpose best? And does anyone have any tips for metering? Should I meter on the subject then go up a couple stops from there? Thanks! :-)
 2.
I was out shooting with my Chinon CM-4 and some Portra 400 (36 exp.) and at frame 27 the advance lever went totally slack. It was working fine, it just suddenly lost all tension. I can move it back and forth with ease. The shutter won't fire. I'm not really sure what happened, do you know what could be wrong? Is there anything I can do to fix it? Right now I'm leaning toward rewinding the film and then seeing what the heck is going on.

 3.
Hello! I just a purchased Chinon CM-4 from Ebay. I put the batteries in, and the light meter functions, shutter fires, etc. But, when I look through the viewfinder, there's a small, black squiggly line thing on the middle right side of the viewfinder. When I remove the lens and look through the viewfinder, it's still there. If I'm correct, the speck is either on the mirror or the sensor...? Should I be worried? I have a 30-day return option, but is it worth it? I paid around $30 for it. What should I do? Thanks! :)

 4.
Hello! :) I'm looking into buying my first VSCO film pack and I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations? I mostly shoot portraits, and occasionally some landscapes. I really like the soft-ish look of the 07, but I know the others can be toned down as well manually or just with TheFader. 06 is nice as well! Honestly, all of the packs seem beautiful and versatile to me, but I only have the money right now to afford one. :-( FE also seems like a practical option.
Thanks! All opinions, recommendations, and advice is greatly appreciated!

 5.
Hello! I'm looking for some cameras similar to the Pentax K1000. I love its simple, easy, manual, non-electronic abilities. I recently purchased a Minolta X-700, thinking the electronic features wouldn't be so bad, but I really don't like it. The light metering is already choking. Before it, I borrow an Asahi Pentax K1000 from a friend and fell in love with its simplicity. (Although focusing is much easier on the Minolta X-700, in my opinion! :) ) I'm looking at buying a K1000... But I'm not willing to scratch tooth-and-nail to bid for one at a high price. It's a pretty popular camera-- and I can see why-- but there has to be more like it? Something less hyped up, but reliable and simple none the less? Or maybe a cheaper way of getting a K1000? Any advice? Suggestions? I'm open to anything. I'm just quite fed up with this Minolta.
Thanks! :)

 6.
Hello! I'm looking into buying my first film camera. I've taken a photography class at my school and have shot my own DSLR (Canon Rebel t3i) for two years, and used a borrowed film camera (Pentax K1000) for the class for a couple of weeks. No matter how much I shoot with my DSLR though, I keep thinking of how authentic and genuine film photography is-- not to mention exciting. I've been searching Ebay and doing research for a while now, and I think I've narrowed it down to a few cameras that I'm interested in and I was wondering if you all would care to weigh in? I'm not looking really looking for any flashy electronic stuff-- just a basic camera with good lens options that is sturdy and I can buy for relatively cheap.
1. Pentax K1000
2. Olympus OM-1
3. Olympus OM-2n (not going to lie, as much as cosmetic appearance doesn't matter... The sleek black design is a major plus in my books! lol I'm also a big fan of the Zuiko lenses!)
4. Minolta SRT 101
5. Canon A-1 (once again the black design ;-) )
If you guys have any more suggestions, I would be glad to hear them! Thank you! Would love to hear all of your thoughts!
