  1. Interesting news story about a New Mexico, USA man who discovered famed physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer captured in some old home movies. If you look carefully at the video clip, Oppenheimer can be seen holding what looks like an Argus C3 camera.
  2. Haven't posted to PN in a while. Some recent auction finds with a dental theme 😁 Steinheil Muncher lens Vintage Argus Masticate 35mm Camera I assume "masticate" means "anastigmat"...
  3. The earlier Olympus OM-1 was known to have issues with the winding crank slipping sometimes and requiring a second stroke (camera repair author Thomas Tomosy calls the design a "non-ratcheting winding ratchet," which operates by friction). He says that cleaning the mechanism usually works, but sometimes the ratchet claws get worn and need to be re-ground. Not sure if the same design was carried over with the OM-2SP, but if so it could be the problem.
  4. Caution: After deleting some attachments several days ago, they are now just showing a filename with no image in the original posts. Yet the images were visible when I checked before, and someone just "liked" an old post of mine with an image, so not sure what is going on....maybe just a glitch with the migration.
  5. I see now that once you attach/upload an image, there is an "Insert into post" option. Then you can add text where you want.
  6. A few test photos taken this summer with Ihagee EXA 1a, CZJ Pancolar 50/2, ColorPlus 200. Still haven't found out how to place text below a photo without editing, so I'll try placing the caption at the top. Editing time initially was only 5 minutes, but now I can edit and save past 10 minutes. Camino 66 #1
  7. All, mjensen has restored the "Delete" function to My Attachments, so if you are over the 488 MB limit, then you should be able to take care of that now. Looks like you can only delete 25 items at a time, so it may be a slow process.
  8. A few new features I do like (or if they existed in the old PN, they didn't work): A way to edit/delete your Custom Title again (below your displayed username) Ability to delete old conversations in Messages More detailed Ignored User settings (you can ignore either posts, messages, or mentions for each user, though these have to be reset with the new site) Considering we've only been up and running for a few days, overall I think the transition has gone pretty well so far. There are still some members experiencing issues, but I'm sure they will be worked out in the coming days/weeks. Note: Now it seems I can edit and save changes past 10 minutes, so maybe that has been reset.
  9. The editing time with the new site appears to be about 5 minutes, unfortunately.
  10. If "Pro" is a paid membership upgrade, then I believe mjensen mentioned that the payment system was not working at this time. The new site has only been up two days, so we'll probably just have to hang in there until the dust settles. Anyway, here's one to keep the thread going. Taken with EXA 1a, CZJ Pancolar 50/2, ColorPlus 200.
  11. Browser or OS updates can sometimes cause strange behavior, such as pages not displaying properly. Firefox just did installed some updates yesterday. I just found "My Attachments" and I'm not sure that it's really a folder with copies of images uploaded, since it seems they can't be deleted. Not sure why there is this 488 MB limit, unless non-paying members have this restriction on the new site? I guess we'll learn more soon.
  12. At the top right corner of your post, if you click on the ellipses, there should be an "Edit" option (15 minute time limit). Am also using Firefox browser with no issues. I expect the new site will take a little while for any wrinkles to be ironed out. It looks a bit "slicker" and more contemporary with some bells & whistles I won't use, but it's nice not to get error messages like "You have to wait 471 seconds..." when trying to upload images.
  13. There is still a Test Posting forum, if anyone wants to practice there.
  14. I just posted some photos to the Classic Camera forum with no issues, and I am not a paying member. In the reply box, try clicking on "choose files..." then select the image file you wish to upload.
