1. Very nice shot! What lens did you use?
 2. a_tonkin, I totally agree with you regarding brighter screens DO NOT make manual focusing worse. I've got a B3 screen on my FE2 and have no problem with manual focusing. I had a B2 on it and switched. It's perfect!!!
 3.
I'm seeing a lot of zooms mentioned here. Can't stand zooms. Prime-wise my two favorites are the Voigtlander 40mm/F2 Aspherical and the Nikkor 85mm/1.8D. In that order. Both lenses are incredibly sharp with great color and contrast.

 5.
"I think 40mm is the most universal focal length". Amen Maciek. Amen. A phenomenal focal length. I go back and forth between that one and the 28mm. Both Voigts are exceptional lenses and very lightweight.

 6.
The 28mm lens? She's a specialized lens with a mind and view of her own. Figure her out and you will come home with some very good shots. That's what I was told before taking this focal length on. It worked out well. Next to this FL, I like the 40mm lens next. Both Voigts are very good lenses with exceptional builds.

 7.
Hopefully your F3 is still working fine and you paid close attention to what Lex Jenkins, Todd Peach & David Hartman said. They know their stuff. I have both cameras. The F3/T with a DE-2 finder and the F2/T with a DE-1 finder. Love them both and as someone mentioned, "they will probably outlive me".

 8.
"Back then Nikon recommended roughly doubling or halving focal length when adding lenses".
Interesting Dan. That's exactly what I did. I shoot with a 20mm, a 40mm and an 85mm. All cover quite a bit in different photo situations. To this day I think that advice is still note-worthy.

 9.
IMHO, FM2N's rule!!!! Then the F2's, then the F3's....

 10.
Me personally, if my titanium shutters go out on the FE2, I would replace them with the aluminum shutters. I like the FE2 that much to not be able to use it. I do have the aluminum shutters on my FM2N and they have seemed to operate correctly over the years. My F2 & F3 naturally have titanium shutters and supposedly they're good for many thousands and thousands of firings. So, I could do either type of shutter for my cameras.

 11.
If you think this lens is great, try the Nikkor 28/F2 AIS. It blows the F2.8 out of the water! No flare, no ghosting, magnificent colors and immaculate sharpness from foreground to infinity. What a package!

 12.
I love my Voigt 40mm/F2 pancake Aspherical lens on film. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Ultra sharp! There's a lot of different uses for it. The pics have a "Leica" look to them. Shot vertically it's a slight wide angle. I've never been disappointed with it. Got rid of my 50mm when I got this lens and never looked back.

 13.
Six years later, I've ditched the Nikkor 50mm for a Voigtlander 40mm/F2 for landscapes (An outstanding lens). Much better than the 50mm. IMHO. I'm now also using a Nikkor 20mm/F2.8 for the wide angle landscapes and still have the 85mm/F1.8 (Another outstanding lens).

 14.
Both are excellent cameras. I go back and forth with each of them. If I'm doing landscape where nothing is moving, it's the F2. If I'm doing festivals or maybe sports where there's movement, it's the F3. Love them both.

 15.
My Gossen Digisix 2 meter is pretty darn accurate. I use is about 99% of the time in the incident mode with my F2. My much preferred mode when shooting slide film.
