Yes I did read that post by Mr.Shun Cheung
"All Nikon DX-format DSLRs introduced before 2007 cannot control the aperture on E lenses, including all D1 family, D2 family,
D40 family, D50, D60, D70 family, D80, D100, and D200, plus the two exceptions after 2007: the D90 and D3000".
The D40X was introduced introduced later than the models mentioned ,during April 2007 I think.That is why I was hoping and
wanted to confirm.
