1. Once upon a midnight dreary there were these three dudes who thought it was a good idea to go play in the middle of a storm at night, thus these dudes weren't very bright! To many steps to detail...could of edit many ways, thought this was cool. ~JTG1

 4.
I have tried in the past Recuva and it may do the job for you, I don't recall why I don't use it? However, what I do use works really well and that's: EaseUS Data Recovery Software.

 5.
Thanks everyone for the input, I applied more pressure on the lever and it finally moved (thanks QG & Fritz) , once it did that I was able to rotate the barrel and line it up to the guide lines (as well as 180 degrees). I would imagine either the last owner wrenched it down or time just kinda fused it somewhat, either way, its free! My first thoughts so far on this lens is it appears to be a winner!

Yes, I do have the proper correction glass on it to achieve more then just a close up lens! I had just purchased this lens last week on a trip out of state at a second hand shop, so not a lot of use out of it yet, but planning on it! For some dumb reason my *G.A.S* interests have shifted from vintage film cameras to 3MP or less digital cameras and these big heavy lenses.

Rick, thanks for the link, I see I had commented on it win it was posted, the church in color is an absolute awesome shot, you are a fantastic photographer!

Thanks again to all who assisted me with this lens!

Warmest Regards,
Jack

 6.
Hello Everyone!

I have a couple of questions about this lens, any info would be appreciated.
The lens is a Tamron 80-250mm f/1:3.8 Zoom M42 mount.

First, there is a lever on the side that I don't know what it does,
I'm unable to flip it one way or another, I have not
tried strong arming it (fear of breaking it), I have
tried giving it a firm try, but still nothing.

Click On The Photo's For Larger Size.

Lever.

Secondly, with this being a M42 mount, I adapt it over to be used on modern day gear for use, the issue is, if I use a M42 to F adapter (Nikon), I can adjust the adapter via the set screws to have the lens and camera sync in a straight line, by doing so, this lens becomes a really big close up lens, not what I want.

So, I need to use a correction glass mount, this has no set screws to adjust and now the mount is cock-eyed, my question to you is, can this type of mount be adjusted on the lens its self? If so, how? This is the first style (Adapt-A-Matic mount) of lens I have.

According to THIS website, Tamron made three (3) versions of this lens, mine sounds like it was the second revision, circa 1976.

Now, for some pron....

The Lens:

<a
