hi mike. not sure if this is what you mean, but i can open and close the shutter by twisting the aperture dial when the lens is extended

hi everyone i'm a beginner to manual cameras including the rollei 35b, which i've been using for about a week. right now i am able to extend the lens and click it into place, but when i press the shutter down nothing happens, and i'm not able to advance the lever. i've tried releasing the button on the bottom of the camera but that hasn't allowed me to advance the lever. any help/ideas/tips are appreciated. thanks :)
