I'm not new to photography, but I'm getting into it more seriously in recent months. A lot of my Google searches send me to this site. So I figured I might as well participate.
My first camera was a Pentax K1000 I used for over 20 years. About 10 years ago, I changed careers from Landscape Architecture to Cinematography. While getting my MFA, I started learning on film: Super-8, 16mm, and 35mm using Kodak motion picture stocks. I think I've had two jobs since that used film. I still have a few thousand feet chilling in my basement.
Last fall, a film school where I used to teach was closing and selling a lot of their gear. I picked up my first medium-format camera, a Kowa Six MM. Since then I've been getting back to shooting on film. I've picked up a number of older cameras...some serious, some just to play with and some to see if I can repair.
