  1. Hi, I just bought a Fuji X-T2 and I am having an issue with it. When I half press the shutter, there is a "jumpy" movement in the EVF and sometimes even a flash of a white light seen before it locks onto focus. I think this has something to do with the aperture blades of the lens opening and closing. It's quite disconcerting and detracts from the shooting experience. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this and if this (hopefully) is something that possibly has been fixed in a firmware update that I haven't done yet. Or possibly there is a setting I just haven't found? It's really too bad, because aside from this I really like using the camera and the image quality is incredible. I've thought about changing to the x-pro 2, however I would like to use longer lenses and they really get in the way of the OVF. The other camera I would change to would be the Nikon D500, but would rather not if this issue with the fuji can get fixed. Any thoughts about this would be appreciated. Thanks, Jonathan
  2. HI, I am curious if this is possible. for example, it is possible to use the 12-40 PRO lens on an Olympus OM-4Ti body. Just wondering, as I do have an old OM-4 and I'm thinking o f buying the 12-40 and wonder if it would work on this as well as my new OMD. Thanks, Jonathan
  3. Hi, Thanks for the reply. I only see one option. So maybe that is the problem. Will see if I can get the other options. Will definitely look into DXO Optics pro. Thanks.
  4. Hi, I am a new Olympus and mircro-four thirds user having recently purchased the OMD EM1 Mark II. I really like shooting with the camera. However I am having difficulty getting prints with high contrast and "pop" to them. I have been using Lightroom. While the images look very good on the computer screen, when I print them on my Canon Pro 100, they look somewhat washed out with low contrast and a lack of "depth' to the photos. I realize there are many possibilities that could cause this problem. I'm just wondering if this is an issue with micro-four thirds in general (I've heard it takes more "work" to get good prints), or maybe I should try another raw converter? Do micro-four thirds cameras produce photos with less contrast and sense of depth (if that is understandable) per se than images with larger sensors? It's a bit difficult to describe - I just used to have a Fuji x100 and the photos from the Olympus just look different - more washed out and with less "bite".......Any suggestions how to make the prints look more like they do on the screen? thnaks for any advice. JB
  5. <p>Hi,<br> I am in the market to buy a new camera and I an interested in the K1. However I keep reading online and seeing on You Tube reports that the auto-focus is terrible. I am not a sports shooter, however I do want to take pictures of my fast moving children at times. My other interests in photography are landscape and general walking around photos/street photos/architecture. <br> My question is whether the K1 would be able to do the job. From reports it seems the image quality is amazing which is my top priority, especially since I would like to make large print.<br> However, DP Review said that even single shot auto focus was not good and missed a fair amount. (I think I read this correctly). Has that been people's experience with this camera? Unfortunately I am living in a place where I cannot try out the camera myself before buying it. (This makes it very hard to make an informed choice!)<br> Any advice would be appreciated.<br> Jonathan</p>
  6. <p>Thanks for input. Yeah, I realize it's premature to really make comparisons. However I'm just looking to see if there was some additional information out there to help me decide. I think as I shoot often in low light and also would like to print relatively big if possible, that the Nikon will be better. Maybe I'm just hoping someone can convince me otherwise as the Olympus is very enticing - especially with all their great compact lenses......</p>
  7. <p>Hi,</p> <p>I realize this camera is not out yet. However I imagine it will have the same sensor as the Pen F, yes? If so, how do you think the camera image quality will compare to the Nikon D500? <br> I am trying to decide between these two cameras, and wondering if I would be taking a bit hit in image quality going with the Olympus.<br> The two cameras look similar in a lot of ways (focusing speed etc.), which is great. But from the sample pictures I have seen, the D500 ones seem to look better to me (I have seen some samples on DP review from the Em1 Mkii). I could surely be wrong about this however......<br> Thanks for any advice.<br> Jonathan</p>
  8. <p>Hi,</p> <p>I am looking to buy a new camera and I am very interested in the Nikon D500. It seems like a great camera. However, I have read that there are issues with the camera locking up and causing problems.<br> Does any one have any information about this? Is this a big problem and should I wait until it is sorted out. Or consider a different camera altogether.<br> Any advice/info would be appreciated.<br> Thanks,<br> Jonathan</p>
