  1. What was I thinking? A month ago I bought a black repaint 1951 Kiev 2 from a Ukraine seller. Perhaps just to act normally was a way to counter the bullying. The camera came a few days before the invasion began. It is beautiful, repaint job excellent with the old-style K N e b logo in white. But there is a problem with the shutter release. All seemed fine in initial testing. But when pressing gently as one would when taking a photo and holding the camera steady, I realized that the shutter release operates in two stages: at all speeds, it opens when the release button is partly pressed, but it doesn't begin to close until pressed all the way down. None of my other Kievs have had this issue, and it makes the camera unusable. In normal times one would just return the camera. I wonder if this is a known issue, not too hard to fix?
