<p>I have a Canon Rebel X (a great, practically free camera) that's had electrical tape on it for many years with no problems.</p>

<p>A Canon 7 was my first rangefinder camera. I bought it and a Canon 35/1.5 in 1990 for $300. My second lens was a Summitar, which i picked up for $75. I got a lot of mileage out of that kit.</p>
