1. What did you do in post? I like the grainy effect, but it seems just a bit too much contrast.

    Attentive

In addition to color, the image has a strong composition. The shot suggests some sort of ceremony, perhaps religious, perhaps a wedding, ??? The point is that it also has you wondering.
  3. The photo is not really the subject here. Rather, the psyche of the photographer. Dark, and pained.
  4.
Has anyone used MixBooks? They are highly rated, but not by a group with this expertise.
Thank you,
John Ciccone

  5.
I glanced at this topic yesterday. Today, I got a promotional e-mail from Fuji ... they now make a color accented "fashion statement" camera with special adaptations for selfies!
http://www.fujifilmusa.com/products/instax/cameras/mini_70/index.html?utm_source=Fox_PaperTownsPromo&utm_medium=Eblast&utm_term=October2015&utm_content=Eblast_Mini70&utm_campaign=INSTAX_Mini70
Note in the advertisement, they feature teenage girls. This the very demographic that had a major influence on the Japanese cell phone industry. Whatever people think of selfies (I am not a fan), they do seem to be an obsession, especially among the young.

  6.
Dear David, Thank you! This is exactly the kind of informtion I am looking for. The questionable color and especially the poor customer service are real red flags for me. I will consider them in the absence of other alternatives. Best regards, John C

  7.
Can you recommend one? I'm looking to make photobooks. I want good quality paper, good color printing and good binding.
Thank you,
John Ciccone

  8.
Not sure if this is the right place to post this question BUT...
I will be attending a sporting event with about 70 competitors running several days. I'll be taking a lot of photos. Our goal is to give each competitor a thumb drive memory stick with about 100 photos of the event. Once the selected photos are in a folder, I will then have to transfer them to about 70 memory sticks. What is an efficient way to do that?
1. I have heard of ImageUSB as software utility that can manage the duplication, but I will need some sort of multiple port USB adapter. Can you make a recommendation, PLEASE.
Thank you, John Ciccone

    EGRET (13)

YES!!!!! You have seemed to have captured the flight at the perfect moment, one aspect I like is that of the left wing of the bird on the right visually linking the bird on the left. Both of them are set against a sky that seems to have just the right amount of softened and NOT brightly lit clouds. The image is at once powerful, dynamic, and beautifully balanced. Many kudos...
  10. Lots of triangles here. I like the way the triangular shaped hole in the clouds balances those of the rock face. So, I see a strong composition, but the darkness of the cloud formation in the right upper quarter of the image in overpowering.

    Jefferson Memorial

I live in DC and have seen the Jefferson a million times, but you have captured a view of it that makes if new for me. I see a strong composition with the powerful verticals of the columns and the capping sweep of the curvature from left to right. It is a powerful image with a satisfying balance.
  12.
I have decided to start using some of my old film cameras again. I will shoot B&W and color, process the B&W myself but send the color stuff out. 2 questions
1. I'm looking at two 35mm film scanners, the Pacific Imaging Prime Film XA and the Plustek OpticFilm 8200i Ai Film scanner .
Has anyone of you used the Pacific Imaging XA, it is new and a search of the internet has not come up with any user/purchaser reviews.
OR can you suggest a good quality 35mm scanner for up to $600?

2. If you digitally scan a film negative and import it into Light room, can one edit the image as a raw file, or is that a really silly question. (If it is, please explain, why...or suggest an article to read, I'm new to this sort of business.
Thanks, and best regards, John Ciccone
