  1. Since the latest Lightroom CC major update, my 'alloyphoto.com' DROPBOX plugin has ceased to function. The existing plugin version 3.0.1 now won't function, whereby it did a brilliantly simple file export to Dropbox. I had expected the developer to have updated the plugin ($15--) but nothing as yet; and no reply to my messages! Anyone know anything further on this, or whether there is a similar plugin etc? What's the best, straightforward procedure to follow? Hope you can help, as being an event photographer I constantly have hundreds of images that need to be 'Dropboxed' and 'linked' to my clients. Much appreciate your advice/news.
  2. I was under the impression that the Nikon SB 5000 would be triggered by the Yongnuo YN560-TX ii wireless trigger. No matter how I try to set up each item, I simply cannot get a link....they don't seem to work together. Can anyone confirm whether these 2 items are compatible, and if so if there is a set of instructions that guide you through? Thanks in anticipation. John
  3. Thanks everyone for your very kind info, much appreciated. At least now I have some idea of what's happening. I was somewhat surprised why the SB 5000 should exhaust its power before the SD-9, since it's only supplying power to its computer, so to speak. As long as I'm getting around 400 flashes, I should be satisfied, since I do a lot of day long event photography and need, thus, to keep up.
  4. Can anyone suggest how many shots I should be able to achieve with the Nikon SB 5000 flash unit, on its own, and how many if used together with a Nikon SD-9 Battery Power Pack? I've noticed on several occasions that my SB 5000 flash unit shows the depleted icon onscreen, whilst the SD-9 pack still holds charge. I'm using eneloop or Duracell rechargeable batteries. Thanks for your advice.
  5. I've been asked to provide 'enormous' hi res images for shop fronts from my Nikon D850. Not what I do regularly, hence my need for help. I submitted jpg images of 300 dpi, long edge size 8256 pix which aren't big enough. They also want to use images for huge billboards in a shopping center. Can someone enlighten me as to what I must do? I'm using Lightroom/Photoshop. Many thanks.
  6. Sorry, I don't know what Fall1 camera profile means at all! How could that come about? Should be 'Adobe Color.'
  7. Alas....reopening LR again, the file has reverted to its darkened side again. The following image, which is just the same has no issues. So, I'm really confused now. Any help there? Thanks.
  8. Just went into LR Preferences to see that GPU was unticked...! Selecting it seems to have resolved the issue. Thanks for your guidance.
  9. It occasionally happens that when we open a raw file in Lightroom in the Develop module it goes almost black. Yet when reverting back to the Library mode, the color is normal. I've included the file below. Please let me know what's happening, as I can't afford to lose files when doing a Fashion Designer's shoot. Is it Lightroom? The file below looks normal. Thanks. John
  10. Many thanks again for your valued input. I'll go through your procedure, as I'm sure it will facilitate a seamless workflow. An invaluable piece of advice for an ever pushed runway photographer!
  11. Thanks for that. It is, however, still confusing when I see my fellow fashion week photographers open up their images in Lightroom, we having all set the same kelvin, ISO etc etc, and their images look pretty much good to go from the start. Just a little cropping etc and that's it. My concern is that my Lightroom has some setting that I'm unaware of that discolours the image a second or two after it's imported, where the initial image looked correct. Where the environment we were shooting in gave a greenish tint, as I mentioned earlier, it was suggested I dial in 1.5 Magenta, shoot Auto WB, and, indeed, the images in camera appeared spot on. So it's depressing to see that the images into Lightroom initially come in with the same look as in the camera, to then turn a pinkish cast. Hopefully you may have further thoughts on this....is it my Nikon....my Lightroom? Of course I can adjust WB in Lightroom easily....time consuming when the picture editor is screeming for images. Looking for your further assistance my gurus!
  12. Thanks for the tips, guys, but I'm just curious to know why the raw image brought into Lightroom, whilst appearing correct initially, it has a pink cast develop within a few seconds of coming into the app. Why? Is there a setting somewhere that I'm not aware of, that adds this pink cast, or is it something else?
  13. I was shooting the London Fashion Week show over the week-end and whilst shooting raw on a Nikon D850, I noticed that the files appeared somewhat greenish in camera. Another photographer suggested dialing in 1.5 Magenta. In camera, it seemed to present a well balanced image. When importing via Lightroom Classic CC, the images would first appear as in camera, after the color adjustment, but within a couple of seconds, a pinkish color cast would appear. I reset the settings and shot some images at home. I was surprised to see that there is still a pink color cast. Can someone suggest whether there is an issue with in camera settings, or whether Lightroom Classic is wrongly adding this color cast. I urgently need to solve this issue, as I'm shooting fashion for a publication, where color and speed is of prime concern. Can't find a straightforward suggestion online. Thanks for your help.
  14. Hi. It's been a while now that in Lightroom CC (now Lightroom Classic!) when I finish editing images and move on to the Slideshow module that, after the Preview has completed, and the Slideshow should commence, I have nothing but a black screen with some white borders. The slideshow is set to music, so all that happens is that the music commences, there is a black screen etc but no active slideshow. Images then begin way down the line......! I'm on a 3 year old Mac Pro Retina. Until, I close Lightroom and re-open it again. Then, behold, the Slideshow module actually does its job! So, can any of you gurus enlighten me? I've tried deselecting 'Graphics Processor' from Preferences to no avail. I would have thought that this latest update in LR 'Classic' would have all been history. Quite unprofessional when a client is there waiting to see the Slideshow, as you can imagine. Your experienced opinions, please. Many thanks.
