1.
I hope this is in the right category...

It's about time I bought a Wacom. I've managed for years with a mouse and am quite quick with it but I'm pretty sure after getting to grips with a tablet I'll wonder why I hadn't got one years ago.

Can anyone recommend one? Which model and which size? I don't do high-end retouching but do shoot professionally and have a fairly heavy work-flow. I mostly use LR but also PS. My budget is quite big, I might as well get a good one.

Thanks

 2.
I'm again out of space and need another pair of external hard drives (one to sit next to the computer and the other to hide away at the back of a cupboard).

What do people use? Brands, size etc. I'd prefer not to go the cloud route.

Previously I've used the WD 2TB bricks that require their own power source. These have always served me well and I've never had an issue but now that 2TB can fit into a drive the size of a pack of cigarettes I'm wondering if I should use the 2.5" drives from now on. Are they as hard wearing?

Thanks

 3.
Thanks all. My backcloth is 10' though so the Manfrotto won't stretch. Also by the time I've added a bag to carry it all in I'm up to the same cost as the kit. Tempting though, I DO have too many light stands!

 4.
Lastolite, Interfit and Calumet all do similar products for around £100, does anyone recommend one over the others?
It's to be used to hold a 10' muslin backcloth about 8 foot high. I'd like it to be as light and short (when collapsed) as possible but obviously sturdy.
Many thanks,
James

 5.
Thanks Craig,

That one looks good but doesn't seem to be available in UK. Nice and compact.
I'll post this in lighting as you suggested.

James

 7.
Thanks all.

I just need a bit of practice then by the sound of it. It certainly is a more unforgiving camera than the D700 (which I still use for most shoots btw).

 8.
Thanks Mike. That's a good idea, I'll do some controlled tests. It's definitely a bit of both - eye highlights doubled up for eg which I can deal with, and also general softness which I can't! My 70-200 might need a service which could explain the shake. The focus is more worrying. Are there perhaps any autofocus settings I'm using that shouldn't be or vice versa? As with the D700, I have the focus point as small as possible and try to have AF settings to 'Off' wherever possible. Perhaps technology's moved on and there's a better technique I need to use with the D810?

 9.
With my D700's shooting with 70-200 VR2 or 50mm 1.4 I typically get one soft shot out of, I don't know, 30 maybe. With the D810 using the same lenses I get about 1 in 5 sharp! What am I doing wrong? If they're not soft there's slight movement, even with the VR. I'm not shooting at particularly slow speeds or shallow depths of field.
Has anyone else had these problems and what did you do to correct them? Thanks.

 10.
Thanks very much Matt. Great video too. Ours would be more fly-bys of buildings so one of us circling and the camera controller panning at the same time. I'll try to find an example online and get back to you. A lot to digest in your post so I'll come back once I've fully understood it.
Cheers mate, James

 11.
Can anyone recommend what equipment I might need to take aerial video with a Go Pro Hero 3? My budget is around £2000 and for that I'd need a gimbal that could be controlled independently. There would be 2 of us operating it. There seem to be a lot of options at the top and bottom ends of the market but not a lot in the middle. (I'm assuming 2k is bottom of the middle..)
If anyone could suggest a few models to look at it would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
James

 12.
Ok thanks, and is this all I need? No extra software required?

 13.
Can anyone recommend what I need to calibrate this monitor? It seems to be a great display but I haven't been able to use it as the colours are way off. Thanks.
