    The method that you mentioned is to move photos without the help of any tools , all you need is a USB cable , but IDK, you failed, and the method i mentioned is to move photos to computer with the help of the tool.

    I did backup photos to computer without updating my computer . The Samsung can be connected to computer with USB cable , trying installing a transfer app on your computer which can scan all the info of your Samsung ,and move them to computer .
